Intel 520 (Core i5 6200u cpu)
Not looking to play Dragon Age Inquisition on it, however will it handle the older games? I have a desktop available for graphics intensive games. Just looking for a way to play older games without using the desktop PC. These are in an over the road truck. I am going to buy a new laptop within the next 45 days. Trying to decide whether to get this one now or wait until I can afford a Core i7 6600 with Nvidia graphics.

In case you are wondering the desktop is a mini tower case sporting

Phenom II 840 @ 3.2 w/ watercooling
16 GB DDR3
Two 120GB SSD's booting win 32 and win 10 64.
1.5TB storage drive
2GB R7 270 video card
BD-RW drive

Nothing wrong with an AMD 270 GPU; u just need a stonger CPU and that GPU will do much better overall.

Why would u have Windows 32bit at all? That can't use more than 4GB RAM.
Just use Win10 64bit, it is free.

i5 6200U is a Laptop/Mobile CPU.
Aim towards either a Z97 Board + LGA-1150 CPU (i5-4690K or i7-4790K) so you can re-use your existing DDR3 RAM. If you upgrade to Skylake (LGA-1151) Board + CPU; you have to get DDR4 RAM.

Give us a budget range and then we can help with suggestions.

Also what Power Supply (PSU) do you have?

I have 2 laptops now. Both have AMD processors. One is about 6 years old and the other is about 3 now. I use win7 32 bit because I have a few old games that have some 16 bit code, but they are windows games.

I have plans to build a new desktop system soon also. Probably based on either Core i7 58xx or 4790k. I can't justify the cost difference between the 59xx and 58xx for only 200MHz. Likely I will be using the 4790k since it will handle everything almost as well as the 6 core i7 and has both mATX and ITX boards available. Size is a huge consideration when you live in a truck 90% of the time. Current desktop draws about 335 watts. I want to keep the draw under 600 if possible.

Right now I am looking for a laptop to replace the 3 year old HP. The 6 year old can only use 4GB system memory anyway so it has been reformatted with win 7 32 bit. I have found that some of my newer games don't run as well as I want due to these older processors. So yes I know the 6300u is a mobile processor. I just know that I can afford laptop using it today. Anything more costly will have to wait for 30-45 days.
