Pre FX cpus imc is only 1333mhz so that's as fast as the chip will allow the ram to run but amd PII benefits from tight timings so aim for cl7 or cl8

I'd get these ^ although cl9 but by the time you drop the mem down to 1333mhz the timings will also tighten like cl7 or cl8 and possibly 1T if you only populate 2 dimms.
So far thanks alot guys!
My cpu is: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Athlon%20II%20X4%20640%20-%20ADX640WFK42GM%20(ADX640WFGMBOX).html
What is the difference between buying 2x8gigs and 4x4gigs? How can i tell if 1600mhz-s will work ? My friend says i should get hyperx if possible.
4x4GB is tougher on the imc so overclocking it past 1333mhz would again possibly burn or damage the imc that's only designed to handle 1333mhz aka 667 x 2, so if you dooverclock you don't boost the ram above 1333..
Now knowing what your cpu is there's not much point throwing a lot of $$ at it so you're better to just get the 2x4GB set and add it to the 2x2GB set and call it a day.
Biggest problem with the propus core cpu is there's no L3 cache so it makes it a less than stellar gaming cpu.

A few examples of your cpus placement ^.
If you're going to upgrade the pc eventually in the near future get some 1600 ram minimum so at least you can move them over to a new pc.
1600, 1866, 2133 all start at 1333 so faster ram will run at 1333 but opens up your future upgrade path.
Your board can oc to 1666 but the imc (internal memory controller) in the cpu is 1333 so that's what you're limited to now no matter what speed ram you put in.
Kingston vs G.Skill I prefer G.Skill, just my preference, I have G.Skill in 5 different amd towers and it works fine and stable one being a x4 640.
Ps, either way 4GB isn't enough these days, I was watching a rise of tomb raider vid the other day and it was using 9.xGB system ram. It's up to you what or how much ram you get but eventually the x4 640 has to be replace sooner more than later.
And you can argue the fact that there'll be hoards of ddr3 cpus floating around the used market and also ddr3 cpus won't be pulled off the shelves anytime soon, most cpus at this point are better than the x4 640, hell even an i3 and fx6300 are flying by the x4 640.
i'm not even sure that board supports 4GB sticks
Its only showing support for 1GB and 2GB sticks on the memory support list.
The max support it has is for 1666/1600, if you get RAM thats 1866mhz or 2000mhz it'll downclock to 1666mhz as thats the max frequency it allows.
But yeah, 4x2GB sticks may be your only option @ 1600mhz.
