Is Acetone Safe For Cleaning CPU?

Going re applying thermal paste to my CPU.
Is it safe to use acetone to remove the old paste?
Only other thing i can thnk of using that i have on me is Smirnoff Vodka but that stuff is pretty weak for the job i imagine

Yes but one is lickable, the other is not.

Just get a foam cleaner like they use in repair shops.

Acetone melts, beware.

There's no reason not to use 99% isopropanol, if you need lint free cloth the common coffee filter does the trick, do not use paper towel it is not lint free.

I was only asking about acetone because i had it on me. Worked a treat anyway
