At least you're being straight with me than have me wait for a reply that gives info about that thing I didn't inquire about.
If I knew the registry key I would simply post it here then that can be saved as a .reg file and run then reboot to fix it. But, since I don't have windows 10 here, I could run a Virtual machine to find it but that would take a long while.
Somebody would have done it by now anyway, or do what most people do, upgrade the hardware.
Compression is not a bad thing, low spec hardware is.
The overall horse-power of the system shouldn't matter when it is a lack of RAM issue.
Idk why everyone's saying this compression crap's better, cause it's eating up 65+ memory while I'm sitting here doing nothing with my computer. When I try running any game I get constant memory errors because of it. I have 8 GB if RAM and I even close everything else when I go to play a game but the main annoyance is chat. When I try chatting with Steam, Skype, Twtich, etc. everything goes in VERY slowly and I can hardly scroll through my Steam friends list. When I right click something it takes 4 minutes for my options to show and I can't even disable anything in the hidden icons because they take a minute to pop up and they seem to never give me right click options and I have to disable everything I need to close through Task Manager, which by the way, is also slow as ♥♥♥♥ and I can hardly search for anything in it with this problem going on and it only started right when I upgraded to Windows 10.
I was gonna give you my computer specs right here, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Windows 10 changed all their ♥♥♥♥ so I have no idea how to find my computers specs anymore, just trust me, they should be good enough to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chat if I could play GTA V max graphics at 30 fps just a few days ago before I was forced to go to Windows 10(Yes, I was forced, they only let you postpone 8 hours each time, 8 hours from then I wasn't at home and it force updated).
or going to, Control Panel > System
It's the same as on previous OS
First off if you don't even know your system specs, why did u even install Win10 to begin with. As you obviously have no idea what you are doing.
One reason everything is probably not running well is simply because you installed Win10 via in-place-Upgrade. Backup your data and do a clean install via Win10 bootable media.
If you'd like to share your system specs, do it this way:
Download and Run CPU-Z > click Validate > tick the OC box > click Submit > share the web-URL in here.
-or-
Download and Run SPECCY > click File > click Publish Snapshot > share the web-URL in here.
How about... No, go ♥♥♥♥ yourself. I just uninstalled Windows 10 and I'm back to Windows 8, everything's back to normal and don't expect me to remember all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GXT30009816 G50Corei76 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ names.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz

System Type: 64-Bit Operating System, x64 based processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 + Intel(R) HD Graphics
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 of them)
It's not the best computer, but it out does an Xbox.
For your information I don't know either, it was easy in Windows 8 with a "bcdedit" command, but it looks like that option doesn't exist in Windows 10 and the relevant help pages seem to have dried up.
But there may be a solution.
Disable your paging file and the service stops trying to compress memory.
EDIT: One additional point. I'm not sure about the latest Windows Server, but memory compression was disabled by default on the server versions of Windows 8. So Microsoft also thought there was potential for people to have problems from it.
Its an issue with the drivers and Windows Networking.
I've resolved 2 peoples issues regarding this in the past few months and it was because of the Killer NIC.
Can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, or by using the most up to date Killer NIC drivers.
And this is a pretty old thread btw..
I created this thread because I keep on having these HEAVY Memory usage after being idle for some few hours time or playing a game for hours. So much that only opening a new Firefox window would cause the "Low Memory" warning despite not multi-tasking, which in the end will force me to restart the laptop and PC over and over again and again..
Edit: I reformatted my PC and Laptop, and installed updated Drivers and the issue still persist.
Plus thread topic is about how to "DISABLE" the "System and Compressed Memory". If you don't know how then please don't answer..
Uh.. i explained it in my 1st post?
Its possible it may not be limited to Killer NICs..
Whens the last time you updated your Network Cards drivers?
I reformatted my PC and Laptop and installed up to date Drivers and the issue still persist. That was like before I posted this thread.
Plus thread topic is about how to "DISABLE" the "System and Compressed Memory".
Despite not connected to the internet the issue still persist so please don't try to blame everything on the Network Card Drivers. The main issue is on the Heavy MEMORY usage and not the Heavy NETWORK Lags.
If you don't know how then please don't answer, isn't that simple? I kept asking for answers about how to DISABLE it and yet there will always be someone giving different answers that isn't about the main topic..
Solving 2 people's problems which is connected to Killer NIC doesn't solve an issue I've been facing for a LONG time. Make it a Hundred to a Thousand People with and without Killer NIC with different PC and Laptop builds. I have friends having the same issue and yet no answers or fixes about the "System and Compressed Memory" High Memory Usage
