buy any Psu That is gold certified abd meets ur requirement
Look for units from Corsair, SeaSonic, and EVGA
or just wait for the rma to return
The gold rating doesn't indicate quality for gaming pc's Look for one off this list -

Gold = it's efficiency that doesn't say it's a good quality PSU. I'd rather a lower efficiency and better quality than the other way around.

OP use the link in post #4 and aim for a PSU in the Tier B or better. Also consider paying more for a PSU can mean much better quality. To see this look at their warranty period. The longer it is the better quality it is as the manufacturer clearly have faith in their product.

Sure you could get a PSU with a 2 year warranty for <$100 but for $40+ more you could get one with 5, 10 and even 12 year warranties. Saving you money in the long run. Less need to identify a failed PSU or the time and cost to replace it.
Ok now im confused. First when i was looking for a psu i should go Gold it was a little more expensive so i went bronze Because cheaper. now it dosent matter?? Any Gold that is a know brand Will do?

ok well then why do people say gold over bronze then? or have i just misunderstood?
Corsairs updated rmx series psu's have a 10 year warranty. That should speak for itself , plus they are considered tier A . I think the 650w variant is in your budget or maybe slightly over but consider it a superb investment .

Gold just means it's more efficiency than lower versions. As I said I'd rather a better quality Bronze PSU over a low quality Gold, Platinum or Titanium PSU. Sure it'd cost marginally more in an electricity bill and I do mean marginally more but the better Quality =

confidence in it lasting,
less chance of it failing and needing troubleshooting,
RMA (if under warranty) and replacing within a few years.

Just for examples sake
PSU 1 80+ Gold or higher is $90 and a 2 year warranty fails just after the 2 years
PSU 80+ Bronze cost £110 and has a 5 year warranty. Thats a small extra amount for more than double the warranty term. If you have the cash by all means go for gold or better just aim for PSU's of Tier B or higher.

C and below have shorter warranties and a more likely to fail and rarely damage other components when they do.
so a bronze with more than 2 year warranty?

The Corsair CV650 i have now wich is in a process of RMA is 3 year from the place i bought it from. dunno if its more from corsair themselves?

was thinking about this one maybe:

i did have a Chieftec in my old computer before it died that one was around 10 years old. never had any problems with it what i know.

Good to go with brands that you have used or just go with whats "popular" ?

i have a thermaltake toughpower grand, it has 650w and is 80+G rated, fully modular, it also has rgb if you're into that, found it on sale on amazon for a mere $100
I have a 650w SeaSonic Focus Platinum rated PSU, but I don't know if that would be too expensive for you.
