I3-8100 with RTX2080
Hi everyone I have an old PC rocking a quad core I3 8100 without currently without any GPU would be a good idea to just shove in a 2080ti into this system and game?

the i3 8100 is not too old
q4/17, <3yrs at this time

the 2080 will work, but the i3 is not strong enough to max it in newer titles, unless you are aiming for 4k maxed, then maybe
but the psu will need to be up to the task also

id go tor a 1660s, and an i5/i7 8xxx-9xxx, for a more balanced build

I would not use higher then RTX 2070 Super, bottlenecking starts to kick in about there.

Same reason I would not recommend higher then RTX 2070 Super for the new Ryzen 3 3300X quad-core.

I would get better processor if you wish to get all the power from rtx 2080

Update to latest bios.
Grab a 9600K and cpu cooler

you could do it but the i3 8100 would bottleneck the 2080ti
if you plan on getting a better processor later then go ahead
