DLSS 2 VS FSR3
I’m gaming on a 3080 (12GB) GPU.
Everyone knows that DLSS 2 is superior to FSR2 and that DLSS 3 is superior to FRS3.
But since my GPU can’t do DLSS 3 I was wondering if FSR3 is/will be superior to DLSS 2.

What have you heard, what has been your experience? (granted FSR3 games are light on the ground at the moment but they are out there)

FSR 3.1 announced! I guess this means users with a 30 series card could use DLSS 2 with AMD frame generation now?

What exactly do you mean?

DLSS and FSR can not be applied at the same time. And it doesn't take an RTX to be able to use FSR. I've used FSR in games like RDR2 using just a GTX 980 just fine.

Now we have been able to easily change the DLL file for DLSS for games like RDR2 quite easily which has helped both FPS and the DLSS visual quality. So perhaps we can do the same with FSR. However FSR has still provide quite inferior at best.

What he means that you will be able to use DLSS upscaling and FSR frame generation at the same time. It’s mostly important for GeForce 20 and 30 series of GPUs owners.

Ok, again you can't use DLSS and FSR at the same time.

You will be able to do that. FSR 3.1 frame generation will be decoupled completely from FSR upscaling. So you will be able to use just the frame generation without any upscaling or you can combine it with any upscaling of your choice. You can't do it just yet but that's what is in the info from upcoming changes.

I see no problem why it shouldn't be theoretically possible.

You can already do it via mods so we know it was always possible.

I thought there were only mods to replace DLSS with FSR or vice versa.

There are different mods doing different stuff but you currently can combine DLSS upscaling with FSR frame gen with some specific mods.

Yes, that is what I think may be happening.

Here is an excellent video showing how big of an update it is and what will be changed.

Super exciting for all PC gamers tbh. Should also work on Intel options. I have been using the frame gen tech on both my main rig (6900xt @ 1440p and 4k) and my Steam Deck and have had mixed but mostly positive results. On the desktop especially it has done wonderfully.
