amd ryzen 5 4600g onboard graphics power equals what?
Hi,

I have an AMD ryzen 5 4600g with onboard graphics and an Nvidia 1650 (non ti). I am trying to figure out how the on-board graphics compare to my stand-alone card as I eventually want to buy a 3xxx series card, but it will take a while (I am very poor). I am considering selling the 1650 to start gathering money for said card; this is why I am trying to gather this information. Everything I have found online is people saying to put cards with standalone, which isn't what I am asking; I am asking about the comparability of the iGPU to a standalone card. Thoughts? should I not sell the card; one of my friends tells me that eventually, the 3xxx cards will drop in price, especially given that the 4xxx ti and such cards will come soon (if they haven't already and I just live under a rock).

The integrated videochip is roughly on par with a GT 1030 or a 750Ti.
And don't bet on dropping prices. You will most likely not win.

Thanks. So the card I have now as a standalone GPU is much better than the onboard card. That is what I was looking for info on. Also good to know about the pricing; I was thinking I would wait until the summer to buy a new card anyway so looks like that is going to be what I am doing.

1650 would be much better than any igpu yet

faster system ram does help the igpu alot, but still cant make it beat a low end dedicated gpu

it has about the same power as an gt 1030

*a 1050 (not ti) has over 3 times it's power
*a 950 has over 2 times it's power..

this gives you an ideahow terrible weak it is.

one would wish.
-the upcoming 3050 revamp uses only 85w.. but it also only has 60% of the power of a full power 3050.

if you would combine a chip like that with the likes of ryzen.. you would ger an apu that needs 170w but still can pull 50fps atc1080p medium settinfs.

but we are lightyears away from apu like that.
