i as one of those spend easely 400 euro a year on steam on average.
last 6 years it be more like 600 euro a year.

400 euro x 1.2 million users is well over half a billion usd

because steam drops win 7 support without providing the common decency of creating a way forcwin 7 users to install and launch theit games under windows 7 as they should

i and many lile me vow to never spend a cent on steam anymore.

you rotten drm service when added to fysical copies
robbed me of the right to 2dhand trade and obtain games after they are no longer for salle in store
to launch more than 1 game I own at the same time
and heavely reduced my right of return..

but to turn games in perishable goods is where i draw the line..

Windows 7 is Old, Outdated and Unsupported By Microsoft. You need to come and live in 2023 not in the Past. As stated above you need to go and read what you signed up for when you created your Steam account. Steam can legally drop support for any Old outdated operating system any time they want. Nothing you or anybody else can do about it.

What are you even going on about? I play a ton of older titles and have had pretty well the same difficulties getting them to work with Windows 10 and 11 as I had with 7. You not knowing how to do something isn't the same as it being impossible.

Also, reasonably sure that the vast majority of those Win7 accounts will move on to 10/11 at some point. I'm sure Valve will be absolutely devastated by the lack of your few hundred bucks a year though.

serious revenue i'd say.

it is looked it up 8.5 billion usd on 120 million users.
or about 50 usd per user per year.. with nesrly 5k euro spend on this accound 3k of it last 5 years.. i am clearly welll above the average custoner in spending.

and they now will lose that.. lets hope they loose a lot more of thar.. so they hopefully learn one day.
