Display Port Question
I had a question when it came to display ports/cords on graphics cards. I have recently installed a 7800x3d and am loving it so far, and in the next month or two I plan on buying a Saphire Nitro+ 7900 XTX, however, I noticed it has a display port connection and an HDMI connection. For using a 4k gaming monitor (another purchase for later), which should I use to have my games look better?

use dp or dvi-d over hdmi

If you have display port on graphics card and monitor then always display port.

It does not matter either way if all you are doing is 60Hz.
Most Monitors with high refresh rates however, require that you use DP though.
Unless the Monitor offers HDMI 2.1 then use that if you can for say; 120-144Hz + HDR on a 4K Monitor. But for most Monitors such as 1080p, 1440p 16:9 or 21:9 with 144Hz or higher, they require the use of DP.

In what ways?

It does everything HDMI has ever done, along with Audio Output. It also has a better, more physically secure connection end.

Why do you think GPU makers generally have 3x DP and only 1x HDMI; in case you wanted to do say, NVIDIA Surround. But overall there is a reason for GPUs having DP, it's superior in every way. How else you going to do above 144Hz?

It's been so many years since I've used below 144Hz I can't remember.
Been using DP screens (they also have HDMI, but can't do high refresh or some other features the screen has) for around 10-12 years now.

There is nothing wrong with DP 1.4
I have no issues doing 1440pat 240Hz off of that. You won't be doing that over ANY HDMI

DP 2.0 and above would be for 8K
DP 1.4 supports everything up to 4K/5K
