Steam Deck in Japan
I’m an American currently living in Japan. I’m wanting to order the steam deck to be sent to my house but I can only order via the Japanese site. Are there any differences between purchasing the in the US and in Japan? I don’t want to spend the money if there will be language/system conflict.

The main difference will be the charger. But you can any USB-PD capable charger anyway. You may get japanese language paper manuals, but the SteamDeck itself is identical everywhere.

In Japan there are authorized retail stores that sell them.
Can easily find all of that info via simple google search.

You could purchase it this way and have someone there change the Display Language to English if that is preferred. Not sure what it would be set to if you order online. If you have to use the Japanese website then I would assume it would come set to Japanese.

The only differences are the warranty will not be through Valve but the retailer you purchased it from, you can't purchase it using your Steam account and the charger is different. Other than that, there are zero differences.

There may be zero differences in the hardware, but the price is around 20% higher even after accounting for the currency exchange, Komodo never seem to have enough manufacturing capacity, so it's just always sold out, they don't seem to have refurbished units available, and I've seen zero evidence of them honoring the much publicized sales. They're a pretty terrible company.

All stock comes from Valve.

Those sneaky Yakuza most likely are stealing all the steam deck. Via the mail services to play steams adult theme anime games!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
