Is your PC ready for Grand Theft Auto 6?
It's official, the game will be releasing in 2025 for both Series X/S and PS5 which indicates it's going to be fully optimised to make use of the hardware of these consoles. No sign of PC release which will probably be in 2026.

We can safely say based on it launching for these consoles that you'll at least want a Zen 2 CPU and RTX 2060 super to handle the massively increased NPC density and of course visual fidelity uplifts. They also seem to be making use of ray tracing of some kind considering how consistent the reflections seem to be in each shot.

I'm also super impressed by the amount of NPC variety, different builds and heights even more unique models for women, that aren't just copy and pastes of male models with slight tweaks. Hair physics, booty physics and so on. Rockstar is really pushing the bar on all fronts yet again. I can certainly see that 1 to 2 billion was spent on this project.

I guess now we'll have to wait for the gameplay trailer to really get a better understanding on what else has been improved. I'm hoping the gunplay and physics for ragdolls and cars have been greatly improved too. I felt GTA 5's was a step down from 4's in many aspects.

As for being able to run the game. I know I'll be safe with my 7800x3D and RTX 4070 that's for sure.

I got GTA five and only played like 5 minutes. I should play it. EDIT: I actually played thirty minutes. I just checked.

What's the difference? I don't even know what the regular version is like?

You can make it more graphically impressive and improve the physics. It wouldn't alter the story, it would just modernise it and add a few extra quality of life improvements.

Whatever the case, don't touch the online mode. It's full of cheaters. If you want online on PC, download FiveM and find a casual RP server.

Cool, I'll look into it. If it makes the graphics look impressive enough, it might draw me in. I did play a only a little GTA a longggg time ago but never got sucked into it. I might give it a little bit of attention soon.
Dang, I just realized (or I just keep on forgetting and being reminded) that it's a ten year old game. I just keep on like I guess having the impression it's just a couple year old game.
I just enable DLSS3 FG with AMD AM/FM and maybe get an Intel gpu so I get XeSS too at the same time.

Add a sprinkle of FXAA on top.

I'd concur with playing through the campaign modded with Natural Vision Evolved (NVE)
https://www.razedmods.com/gta-v

Looks significantly better than the original GTAV, and also significantly better than the half-assed "remastered" GTAV.

EDIT: Also concur that GTAV Online is absolutely worthless because it is wholly infested with cheaters to the point where you can't even do anything. Rockstar has been absolutely worthless in securing their servers.

It's a console exclusive for now.

It is releasing in 2024 2025 assuming it doesn't get delayed. Who knows when they will release the PC port unfortunately since they still seem to be failures at launching on PC. GTAV took 2 years to launch on PC; RDR2 took a little over 13 months to launch on PC.

EDIT: fixed the 2024.

I did hear about all the cheaters on GTA 5 online. I have no problem avoiding that since I don't really play online open worlds much at all and if I did I wouldn't mind starting out with a different game.

Also, you know a faster place to get the NVE mod? I'm getting it from the official link but it's telling me it'll take like 7 hours. I don't think it's my connection. I think I'll wait and see if I run into a faster link somewhere online that's still reliable as I look around for it over time.

I think my RTX 4090 just might be able to handle it... All hail work equipment and a boss who like gaming and can write it off as such. We needed a RTX 4090 for AI testing and some IT security work, in which I had purchased off them at whole sale.

Just note the mark up is like $1000+ NZD for the public, but coming down slowly and it's like having two or more graphics cards in SLI, well worth it for 4K HDR. The RTX 50xx series should boost that even more for the 4K resolution or multiple monitor gamers.

It might even be why GTA 6 is coming 2025... for the nVidia RTX 50xx series of graphic cards to beast it!
