Will a 342mm GPU fit in a case with max VGA limit of 350
Hi, I know this sounds stupid but will a 342mm GPU clear a case with a max VGA slot length of 350?. I had a previous card which was 319mm and there was a decent amount of clearance. 342mm I doubt there would be, so is it safe?.

:steamfacepalm: why wouldn't it be fine?

Just wondering if the small amount of clearance is dangerous.
Define dangerous. It'll be tight, but if it fits it sits.

As in too close to front fans etc
I mean hey if it fits, it fits... simple as tbat.
My case description said 350mm but it was more like 344/5mm clearance. :p
may need to remove a front fan, but it will fit
look at the case design and see where it would go to

It may be just shy of the fans so hopefully it’s ok.
What is this specific case model if you don't mind me asking and the specific GPU model/brand? Thank you very much. :sadistpolite:
Very likely the card will split the volume to 2 parts with no air exchange. Unless you have fans all around both for in and out. Also consult the case schematics if there is a case fan slot at the clearance, your number may only work if it is removed from there.

I guess the long card brings some 300-400W of heat, crumping it into a tiny case may leave you with throttling and other heat related problems -- and never mind the noise as the fans try to get manage it.

Well the simple way to answer that is what is the minimum distance between the card and case fans do AMD or Nvidia specify for their cards? If there is no specification, if they haven't bothered addressing that question, one might infer it's a non-issue. What has any reliable authority said on the subject? Again, if it's nothing one can infer it's a non-issue.

So if it fits, it sits.
its the gpu mfg that determines the card length, height, and slot width, depending on pcb and cooler design

amd and nvidia have no control over that

the case mfg will say the max gpu length, but may need to remove drive cage or fans to fit long gpus
it should also list the max height, newer gpus are much taller than the card slot
My case states 350mm is the limit and doesn’t say I have to remove fans or anything. I have 3 front intake and 1 rear.

Xigmatek Cyclops Black. Bought last year and fit previous card fine which was 319mm.
345-320mm is about 1 inch
case fans are about 25mm thick too
so if there is a gap about that big, or the last gpu was not against the fans it should be fine
