Is the Xbox One controller still the best for PC gaming?
I bought a Series X controller. And I liked it, until my A Button kept getting stuck. I tried all the cleaning tips and still it is an issue. Is this still the best controller for PC? I do have a DS4 controller from my Ps4. But I hate the layout of the analog control sticks. Is there anything out there better?

The big problem with PS and Xbox controllers is they just don't last.
PS controllers get stick drift after a year or two xbox controllers get broken and not working buttons and triggers.

I have a little collection of busted xbox and PS4 controllers.
This year I thought I'v had enough with their crap and looked elsewhere and I am glad I did.
What did u find that was better? im interested

They are mostly all junk nowa days, that's the problem.
You buy an official MS or SONY product these days and it's a quality level we all used to avoid from Chinese generic crap. Now MS and SONY cut corners to save money.

Go with Razer or 8BitDo.

I'm still hoping that 8BitDo (or anyone for that matter) releases an early PlayStation era Dual Shock replica, preferably wired but I'd even accept wireless if it otherwise matched everything I wanted. The Pro 2 isn't it; it's an SNES replica with handles.

The F310 is pretty much that, but I really dislike the Dpad on it.

There is going to be a PS3 style controller officially made for PS5; if that helps.
Not sure by who.

There are already these; which would work on PS4/PS5 consoles as well.

The F310 and F710 are okay if you're on a very tight budget, despite the reputation they got from the bathyscaphe mess. Anyway, there's plenty of decent Dualshock layout controllers, though most are xinput only.

On Eggsblocks controllers, I do have an old Saitek P-880, Logitech is the main brand to get though and despite all having more options outside MS (long as you keep your programmable software in tray), MS is more compatible with games. Because developers now make more junky MS Console Ports TO PC, which results in a poor quality game but hey, your eggsblocks controller is detected and pre-programmed inside the game.

8BitDo does have an "Xbox" Controller with the DS3 layout if you prefer that

Yeah, that's the one i'm using currently myself, works with XBox, PC and bluetooth.

Amazing controller really for the price.

Thought i would have to adjust for some time to get used to the shape but it feels really good in the hand and the D pad is amazing.

I have basically all the major controllers that can work on PC; from MS 360, One, Core; Sony DS4, DS5, the ones from Razer, Logitech; etc.

The ones from Razer and 8Bitdo seem to be the better ones. Logitech F710 is also still good.

I mainly use 8BitDo Ultimate nowa days.

All game-pads I ever used for PC were of low quality. I kid you not. I didn't tested them all.
The Xbox 360 game-pad isn't the best, I think. It will wear down in time pretty quick. I am not too happy about it. Maybe try Wii U Pro controller next? Test it. See how it holds up in your opinion. (It will obviously not be compatible with PC out of the box. But if you are handy with computers, you can probably make it function.)

For example, you can buy a keyboard that is 30 years old, and still have a very good and functional keyboard that is as good as new. I didn't found that to be the case with game-pads. If you buy a game-pad that has been used for 10 years, there is a good chance that it will be completely destroyed.

I've connected a Wii-mote to the PC. I think that is also good, but as a gamer you probably want a normal game-pad, and use whatever is best for gamers and what gamers generally think is best.
