Computer crashed with freeze + buzzing noise?
I was in a game when it happened, but my temps were fine and I have not had any random crashes as of recently. The last time it did was during CSGO months ago, which I attributed to my curve optimizer undervolt in BIOS, which I then disabled and CSGO didn't crash ever since.

So, nothing has changed recently other than getting a CPU cooler last week which works great.

My computer completely locked up with a still image of the game while a continuous buzzing sound played... I had to hard-restart my PC which is concerning to me, since these types of crashes 'usually' mean a hardware issue.

I do not have a curve optimizer enabled anymore for my CPU, I only have the PPT, TDC and EDC values adjusted: 76W, 60A and 90A, respectively. The system defaults them to basically unlimited values, so this is what I keep it as ever since learning what the normal limits should be.

Did not see anything of use in the event viewer, either. My BIOS ver is from March 2023, so there might be a new version as of today, but I doubt that would be the culprit. Specs below:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT

RAM: 32GB (2x16) G.Skill Ripjaws @ 3600 MHz (XMP 1.0 enabled in BIOS)

Mobo: MSI B550 Gaming Plus

PSU: EVGA 600W 80 GD+

OS: Win 10 64-bit

I wouldn't worry about such crashes unless it becomes a regular issue.

I just had RDR2 do that to me all in the same way your system crashed... just the other day. Yet my system hasn't done that in quite a long time, like many months and it also hasn't done it since.
I have the exact same problem. Everything at stock speeds, even my 3600mhz ram running at ~2100mhz (thats auto, without xmp). But pc frezes and restarts like 3 times a day now. Also buzzes and shows a still image for a few seconds. Even goes 4 bit sometimes (or whatever its called when you only have red, green and blue colors). Thats happening mostly outside of games.

Win10, i9-9900k, rtx4080, but i switched back to rtx3090 and its the same.

I have an issue at times with clashing audio codecs that will freeze the screen and cause a horrible buzzing/skipping noise. There is no BSoD just a reboot. I found that the DX Sound, Nvidia HD Audio, and my External DAI software were clashing sound codex.

For me it was happening more out of sleep mode than cold boot.

Getting that debugger to work helped a lot with the issue some and also a force fix DISM.

My October post about this issue still stands blank in response...

Ah gotcha, yeah it only happened once, but I was just worried since it locked my whole PC up and I had to press da button.
