Disable Deep Cool RGB Lights
How do I do this? I have a Deep Cool case - not sure which as it was years ago - and I really want to disable the lights on it. I managed to use OpenRGB to disable the motherboard lights but the fans are the obnoxious ones. They're DeepCool fans. Any solution?

check bios, usually has option there
Thanks. I forgot to mention I disabled all relevant seeming options in BIOS but none of them did anything.

sounds like whoever built the pc did a bad job then
Probably. Any other solutions?

well if bios or app isn't working, just disconnect the lights?
I don't know anything about computers. How do I do that?
Apparently there is no wire or software for the lights. Fan replacement here I come.
What Deep Cool case do you have?
Check behind the motherboard tray that there isn't a RGB splitter thats being powered off of a SATA/Molex plug or a button at the front I/O that can turn them off or change the color.
Are you sure they are RGB and not just old-school LED?
Single colored LEDs fans usually can not have the lights disabled via a switch or software, since those are powered directly off of the fan power.

Once upon a time the LEDs were visible enough you could cut the connections and solve the problem (I did this to the fan on a Xigmatek heatsink I bought years ago), but I'm not sure that's the case anymore.

Probably the way to go, the fans you got with the case likely aren't the best anyway.
If they are RGB Fans that shipped with the Case and do not plug into RGB header on Motherboard then there is probably an internal fan hub just to power all the RGB fans. If it is a hub then it should have its own power connector you could disconnect to turn off all the RGB for connected Fans. Or perhaps even a toggle switch.
depends on the fan and where its led are

if they are controlled from mobo or other controller, simply do not plug them in
if the leds are on the fan, some use 3/5mm leds, you can snip a wire to turn them off
if they are smd led on the fans pcb, there is no easy way to disable them
If they are RGB, then they should have a separate RGB cable that comes from the fan. RGB fans are typically not powered by a single cable.
Well, my DeepCool needs just holding the LED switch for a moment to turn them off altogether. Gigabytes LEDs can be disabled via Gigabyte Control Center (RGB Fusion screen)

1. Don't randomly post on threads that haven't been active for several months, that's called necroposting

2. Not all RGB products use software or dedicated power for the RGB itself
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
