Material cloth?
Planning to swap my old cpu liquid cooler with my new cpu liquid cooler. Whats the best material cloth to remove old thermal paste?

TIssue paper, kitchen paper.

TIssue paper, kitchen paper.

Wont they leave particles like dust on the cpu though?
Get better-quality paper towels or cloths, then. All these things shed micro-fibers but generally: better quality = less shedding.

I just use a very clean cotton rag with some isopropyl alcohol. My PC hasn't died yet.

Only if you use the crappiest single layer tissues you can find.

Okay, kitchen towel it is.
Yeah, kitchen paper roll is best for most such purposes and many more.

I use (very little) WD-40 on dried paste, but mostly because it's at hand -- many other thins would work too.
Use a durable alcohol wipe
alcohol wipe, or cheapest paper towel you can get
better paper towels have thinner fibers, cheap ones will not leave anything behind
I use coffee filters
Lens(glasses) wipes are the best in my opinion.

I would have answered with this but someone else beat me to it.

I've also used paper or cloth towels in the past.
Microfibre cloth such as lens cleaning cloth? Microfibre seem to have a mild abrasive quality/feel to it.
Do not use any kind of cloth unless you are prepared to toss it in the trash when done.
