Note: It's not the silent red version. Just plain red.
Almost no mechanical switch is that bad, MX Silent Reds were garbage though.
A good guide is found here - https://steelseries.com/blog/which-mechanical-switch-should-you-use-298
I checked the box. It says MX red US international next to a bunch of barcodes.
However there are a lot of chinese text on the manual and brochure so I suppose it's made by cherry for the chinese market.
But at $32 USD I'm not complaining. Just curious as to why it's so silent.
This is what mine sounds like.

This white one is way louder and more clicky.

Anyway it feels great to type on. A million times better than clicky blues.
the no click.what your describing sounds about right for that switch.
heres a good read.

And it feels good to type on.
pop off a keycap to see if it has an oring you can remove
press slowly, to only hear clickity, press hard and fast to hear both
It sounds and feel ok to me. It really is a joy to type on. And it's relatively silent. I'm not sure if there is sound dampening in this.
You guys should buy one of this to try it out. It's pretty cheap anyway although it's for the asian market.
There is no rattling keys or that stupid pinging sound common in other KB.

Cherry switches aren't that good these days, the clones and originals from other brands like Akko, EPOMAKER, TTC, Gateron, Kailh, etc. have surpassed Cherry. Gateron's Aliaz silent switches are actually almost silent in a board that's properly set up for noise, Box Kailh are just a tad nicer than Cherry and I really liked their Blues compared to Cherry's Blues, and I've used both EPOMAKER Flamingos and Akko Cream Black Pro V3s which I vastly prefer over any Cherry switch I used in the past.
With linear and tactile switches, the majority of the sound doesn't even come from the switch itself, it comes from the keycaps and the keyboard itself. A case without any dampening will always sound pretty rough. When MX SIlent first launched only on Corsair, I had the first Strafes that had them, and they were TERRIBLE. Terribly mushy, not very quiet, and the spacebar was a regular Red switch and was so loud that it ruined the whole point of the board.
