7800x3d now or wait for next gen x3d?

Im looking at buying a b650 board, 7800x3d, ddr5 ram in the next week or so. I heard there are rumours that the next gen 8000 series (or whatever its going to be called) will be released in 2024, whether that be early 2024 or later. Do you think its worth me holding off?

Im struggling for frames and most of my games makes my 9700k run at 100% usage which sucks as Im a competitive gamer and just want the highest fps and most stable 1% which I currently struggle with.

I understand you want a high as possible FPS; but going below 1200p or 1440p is one of the reasons the CPU usage is so high.

Yes, even at 2560x1440 im still getting low fps for a rtx 3080.

At 1920x1440 4:3 I get an average of 210 fps with 120fps 1% lows and 90% cpu usage 45% gpu usage. I just tested in a game of 5v5 inferno.

My friend with a 7800x3d and 3060 ti gets 450fps average at 1080p.

Anyway this is besides the point, overall im in need of a new cpu from what Ive gathered.

If the new boards are due to be released Q3 as someone mentioned I dont think ill wait that long for a cpu upgrade and ill just purchase a 7800x3d now.I thought if there were a chance they came in Q1 id pick up a 8800x3d or whatever they decide to name it

till that point cap your fps to avoid large fps jumps

Also try setting the Vertical Sync within NVIDIA Control Panel to Fast; and then Low Latency Mode on Ultra.

Are you using GSync?
