Considering swapping from 31.5 inch Samsung G7 to the new 360 Hz OLED Samsung 27 inch monitor
Obviously I will want to wait for reviews first before buying it, but I just have one big thing in mind before swapping - I like the 31.5 inch size that I am using right now, and I am a tall person so I am conscious that the 27 inch may be too low down for me.

Has anyone else swapped from a bigger 31.5 inch monitor down to a 27 inch? If so, what were your thoughts about swapping?

Too small.

Why not look at all the screens LG has to offer?

I wanted something which uses 1440p rather than 4K

Yes, I did that. I came down from a 38 inch 3840x1600 IPS monitor to a 34 inch 3440x1440 QLED.

It's all very personal, but for me the 34 has enough height. The 38 is a little too tall. The 34 is lower res, so it is easier to drive. Biggest thing, of course, is that the 34 is QLED, which is stunning. Especially in HDR, playing something with colours that really pop, the QLED is just awesome. The brightest colours, the darkest blacks. It's amazing.

The QLED is nearly a perfect monitor. My only slight complaint is the fringing on text. Still, unfortunately, windows has not been updated to offer correction for the layout. I wonder if it ever will be? Maybe Win 12?

I don’t believe there is such a thing as a monitor too big - just a desk too small.
Of course, this is just my personal opinion.

distance from screen affects the visual quality of a monitor.if your to close to a large screen the visuals are diminished.so yeah..there are monitors that are to big.
for desktop application these are my perfect sizes.

@ 1080 24inch is max

@ 1440 27inch max

@ 4k 32inch max

unless your running 1080p there is no need for 360hz pure sales gimmick
and hows this thing going to handle running at 1/3 its rated speed sounds sketchy at best.

Do you need a 6 foot deep desk for a 32’ monitor? I won’t question that but many people feel comfortable with 32’ on a normal desk and 48’ on a big desk. I personally like bigger screens for immersion in games and more screen space for work.

32inch 4k on a desktop is ideal personally id still do 27 @4k but both are acceptable.
@48 even on a large desk theres visual loss your to close to the pixels.IMO

The 31.5 inch monitor I'm using right now is 1440p and I can't see the pixels at arms length. Not sure about any other monitors which are similar though.

I can’t see any visual loss. Just bigger, more immersive screen. Matter of preferences I think.

Yup, all 32 and 34 inch I tested are like that. It's basically a must that your head be at least 1.5 - 2 feet from the screen. What solves this is a curved screen

Yeah the one I am using is curved as well.

I'm also considering the new 45 inch ultra wide that LG is doing in January, though I have heard before that monitors of that size have low PPI.

Not sure why that should be the case though because all that the monitor is, is just an ultra wide version of a 32 inch.
