Windows 10 install trouble

the issue i'm having:

I'm trying to install windows 10 onto an old computer, it has an empty 1tb HDD in it.
The problem is that the installer says that there's a device driver missing.

the exact error verbatim:

"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media for Windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

things i've tried already:

trying new USB sticks.
changing usb ports. (from 3.0 to 2.0, also from case to motherboard ports)
using windows media installer for the USB.
using rufus to burn the ISO to the USB.
trying UEFI and Legacy boot modes.
switching SATA cable ports.

Dell precision T3600.

RX 580
Xeon E5-1603

(i think) 48 GB DDR3.

That’s a workstation so it probably wants a driver for a RAID controller or something. You might also be able to move the cable to a port on a controller that doesn’t need an additional driver, but you’ll have to look up the documentation for your machine to be sure.

you need to get the dell sata driver *(unzip it) and put that on the usb stick with the windows installer
during the os install when it asks for what drive to install it on, select other driver, and pick that driver so the installer knows how to use its sata ports

it's one SATA cable from the motherboard directly to the drive, no RAID card.

If you have actual cd/dvd drive that you can put into that computer or as a external try burning it onto a disc and using that.

i could try, i don't know if i have any RW-DVDs though.

and try other sata ports, dell is retarded, they do not offer the sas/sata installer driver for some raid controllers on that board

bios is already at the newest iteration AFAIK (A-18 was the newest i found)

i'll try plugging the drive into a different SATA port i guess, thanks for the suggestion

try picking os = win8, catagory = storage controller, download type = driver

IRSTe F6 Driver, and unpack that to the usb stick, and pick it during the install, win10 may say its not signed or whatever, but use it anyway

extract files into a new folder (unzip via right-click)

copy this folder onto your windows 10 install usb

during windows 10 install, load up IRST driver

traverse to the IRST folder during W10 install which you put onto your USB before

select either the folder:

..\DRVR_AHCI_SCU_Intel_A03-9F51R_setup_ZPE\RST\Drivers\x32

or:

..\DRVR_AHCI_SCU_Intel_A03-9F51R_setup_ZPE\RST\

the Windows 10 install will automatically load up your missing IRST drivers to continue

then continue to install W10

oh okay, so i 7zip the folder instead of running the exec?

"running" an exe (self-extracting) will create unneccessary Reg-files and data..
