Best CPU or APU for FM2+ socket
i currently have an A10 6700 3.7 ghz but its bad. Is there any other CPU or APU that can do better.

I have a AAHD3-VC motherboard and a Radeon HD 8470 2gb GPU. I am replacing GPU later on so is there any good graphics card to go well with this CPU or APU or something like a A10 7870k
a10
they are all about the same, less than 10% performance diff between lowest and highest

any mid range gpu (r6 370+ or gtx x60+) will be held back by the apus cpu

well i was thinking about AMD A10 7870k with MSI r9 390 8gb or would that bottleneck
also what about anything other than A10

yes that would be a bottleneck and you cant take advantage of the unlocked processor on the acer/gateway motherboard assuming it even supports that cpu in the first place

ive checked and the cpu is supported. what graphics card would work then?
cant you overclock on any board?
if you are planning on buying a r9 390
just get a r9 380 and a skylake i3 board and ram

you will be much better off

well in that case i would keep the cpu you have (oem company motherboards are locked to prevent oc) its basically top tier for that socket and go with r7 360,370 gt 750,750ti.. you have to get a aftermarket mobo to oc

could it mange anything in the r9 series
Op,can you post what size you case is or link to the PC you have.
A r9 390 might not even fit in your case much less the PSU having 6&8 pin connector and power to run it.

Others might be able to give advise to what GPU is best for your currant set up.

any acer computer will need a power supply for mid-high level amd gpu upgrade.. at the most they have 250w power supply in those systems

If that is it he'll need a new psu whatever he does ^ it says it has a 200w psu.

I vote in the r9 380x and a new good quality 600w-650w psu. The 390 is just going to be choked too badly but the 380/380x/960 won't be too bad.
