the c2q will have trouble maxing out any current gtx card with newer games

gtx750/ti or r7 370 will be about its limit

but first get a quality 300+w power supply for gtx750/ti
r7 370 should have a quality 400w power supply

the c2q is almost too low for farcry4

q6700 is close to pii x4 955 performance

Yes!this gpu is perfect!It will pack a serious punch!Thanks!
But do you think swapping psus is really necessary? cause i never had a problem with my current 9600gt which utilizes 95 watts max,and gtx 750 ti eats up only 60watts..
thanks again m8. :)

It's 90W card. Should be fine if you managed to run 9600 GT for years.

I have used a 750ti with a Q9550 and it ran OK. These Q cpu's can be overclocked fairly easily.
Upgrading to 8GB RAM helped performance a lot. The 750ti blew the original psu after a week (the pc originally had a Q6600, and a 9800GTX). Nonetheless I think you will be limited to minimum graphics on low screen resolutions with stuttering play.

Same idea of cpu, 7870 a touch below the 370 ^.

Since the OC'd q6600 is close to x4 955/965 ^.

Start with upgrading the psu to the cx600 then really contemplate your upgrade path, you could get the gtx960 after the psu(960 prices should be dropping with pascal release and there'll be used 960s) then 6-8 months down the road you could do a cpu/mobo/ram swap approx $200.
Get the most out of upgrading instead of barely enough, I don't believe the 750ti is a good route to take it basically sits between the HD6950/70 as far as old hardware.

First off, that HDD is just killing performance. And I would not suggest relying on it much longer. You should be happy it has lasting this long. An SSD, even on a SATA-II system still helps alot.

The highest GPU that system specs can pretty much max out at handling is around GTX 960

You will need a better PSU though. An old 340W is not gonna cut it.
And you most likely could easily OC that CPU to 3+ Ghz ranges

4GB RAM won't cut it.

The vids above use oc'd 1366 DDR3 memory (and custom cpu coolers) which the OP's mobo won't support.

I was able to run my Q9550 on 3.4GHz up from 2.83 on the original fan. 3.6 needed a larger fan. 4.0 was unstable and exceeded TMax.

Just curious why you say the Blood Iron won't support aftermarket HSFs, it should?
