Save up $ and plan on a new build.
Nothing CPU-wise can you really buy for this.
They say the g3258 is a good processor provided you know how to overclock.
You can also usa an MSI P33 motherboard (what I use). The 1150 socket is common
You would probably spend about 120 USD(rough estimate).
an 8gb ram is highly recommended btw
Beware that some new games aren't handling straight duals cores well or at all without some work to get them going http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/far-cry-4-wont-load.210924/ .
The i3 2c/4t which mimics a 4 core is the lowest you should go on the intel side.
That PC is still 1st Generation... just to give you an idea:
2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge) from Intel redesigned both the motherboard and cpu to work together. This means you have to purchase both a new motherboard and cpu. However, the results are 75% less bottlenecking, more direct access between CPU to memory as well as CPU to graphic processing. That a huge leap!
Each next generation adds an additional 5-15% more on top of that.
We are already up to 6th generation (Intel Skylake).
You are best off with a new PC.
Get Intel 4th Gen (Haswell-Refresh) or 6th Gen (Skylake) if you can afford it. The i5 CPU is optimal for gaming purposes. 8GB RAM. Then couple it with a quality gaming graphics card, such as a GTX 970, etc. The results will blow your old PC away and make it look like a stone age paper weight.
If you can't afford that - then perhaps a console would be a better option for you to game upon? You can still use the PC for internet, work, and other things.
that comment was supposed to be for azza but thanks guys!
