"Windows will shutdown in less than a minute"
Hello, Steam community. So, about a week ago I came across a problem with my PC. Whenever I come home for school and work I turn on my PC, let it load, and login. However, whenever I log in a window pops up on my screen saying "You are about to be logged off. Windows will shut down in less than a minute" and then it shutsdown and I have to manually power it back on again. I tried looking up a solution to this problem on google before I wrote this and I found out that I can press the 'windows key' and 'r' and type in "shutdown.exe -a" and it should stop the shutdown before it happens. So, I decide to try exactly that. However, as soon as I hit the 'windows key' and 'r', my computer completely freezes for about 30 seconds and then starts working again. But, as soon as it unfreezes that's when the shutdown occurs thus not giving me enough time to type "shutdown.exe -a" in the 'Run' prompt. This leaves me with no option but to come straight. If anyone can help please leave a comment below. This has been going on every single day for the past week now and it's starting to worry me.

There's also one thing I'd like to mention and that's that my OS is a windows 7 free trial and not the full program if that's any helpful.

Thank you for reading this and have a wonderful day. :pleased:

If its the free trial then it sounds like your trial may be up, that could be why its shutting down.
You'll either have to Install Windows 10, or buy a Win7 key.

create a shortcut on the desktop for it instead
right click on desktop -> new -> shortcut
"shutdown.exe -a"
run that instead

What was said above ^ but u'll have to do this in Safe Mode if the OS is shutting down too quickly when booting into normal mode.

Yea trial is just that, it expires. So either buy a Win7 product key from Microsoft or download and install Win10
