How do you like DLSS3 frame generation?
Is frame generation universally good, "why not" kind of feature? Or are there any downsides? I’m talking single player games while using a controller.
Anybody here on the 4000 series who doesn't like frame generation?

Thanks

it's a big performance gain for minimal loss in visual fidelity

I've been a pretty big fan of DLSS for a while now. The tradeoffs are great in my opinion. If I was running a 40 series card (3080 ti) I'd be using frame generation whenever possible.

Have you tried FSR3 in Forspoken? There is free demo on steam. I’ve tried and didn’t like it at all. Total rubbish for me.
I really like DLSS2 and FSR2 but was utterly disappointed by FSR3 frame generation and wonder how much better DLSS3 is.

I have not. I've only used FSR2 in Starfield and that seemed fine. And I suppose even though I seem eager to use DLSS frame generation, ultimately it would have to stand on its own merits on a game by game basis, like anything else would.

DLSS 3 makes more frames but can't reduce the latency. The latency will be the same as your original fps.

Which means you will get more fluidity in the picture, but the game itself won't be anymore responsive compared to what it was originally.

If you got 20 fps in a game originally, after enabling the DLSS 3 you will get 40 fps, but the game will still be unplayable because the latency will be the same as 20 fps.

Which makes the DLSS 2 a better option than DLSS 3 actually.

They are not mutually exclusive features and they are not accomplishing the same thing

I understand the concept. I’ve tried FSR3 but I really dislike the extra blurred camera panning. Is dlss3 better? Do you like it? Do you have access to it and use it?

Worth a watch

Honestly, it's pretty damn incredible, Id only not use it in a competitive fps, as, while I can't notice the input delay, anything is bad in competitive games, luckily, such games don't need it.

It blew me away with how good it is really, like it or not, if we don't want gpu's to double or triple in price, AI tech is the future and if you can't tell on a blind test (playing in motion) reliably, does it matter?

I e not used AMD's offering, but from videos it doesn't match up and trying fsr2 vs dlss2, is a similar result, but, what else can you expect? It's a free software solution vs a dedicated hardware soloution, same sort of thing with gsync vs freesync.

In Cyberpunk 2077, it almost doubles the framerate for free. No loss of visual quality, only a very minor increase in latency. I love it.

its far superior against anything to date

Who cares if they are fake if its so seemless you can't notice it?

Atleast that's my experience so far.

More cpu bound games should implement it

Some people say the same about FSR3.
I tried FSR3 and it doubles the fps but generated frames make it look like I get extra motion blur and not real frames smoothnes. It literally makes it look worse for me.

I understand that dlss3 is better but how much better? I’m concerned that DLSS3 will give me a similar effect at 4K60fps -> 120fps and add motion blur.
Monk Oct 20, 2023 @ 11:07pm
Well I dispise motion blur and don't get any of it, I mean, that's the upside of expensive dedicated hardware over a software soloution.

Like fsr looks like crap same as dlss1 did, but 2 onwards (dlss that is) looks incredible.

Fsr still looks like crap, sadly.
