FxSound is a eq program. It is kind of the same.
Even a cheap bluetooth/aux speaker will sound better than TV speakers. My PC already has like a 10 year old 5.1 system so the ONN speaker is used for smart TV apps like Netflix etc.
Before i got the soundbar i was using 2 bluetooth speakers via an Aux cable/splitter which sounded pretty darn good, but the 120W peak soundbar is obviously much better and is actually Stereo.
So yeah, even a cheap bluetooth speaker will give better audio than a TVs speakers. I was just lucky to get 2 soundbars on clearance that does Aux/Bluetooth AND Optical, which it even comes with an optical cable.
Having a Bluetooth/Aux/Optical capable TV comes in handy too though
Optical based SoundBar can be good, especially if it also has a separate sub-woofer to go with it. Definitely better then any low watt speakers and yet affordable if you can't go all out for decent 5.1 or 7.2
Ya a soundbar is a good speaker upgrade, they are speakers so the tip will work with it also. The Quality (Q) in Peace EQ setting works good at outputting the sound from your speakers and you should try it.
Generally noise leveling does stink when applied to all sorts of hardware, but in case you haven't noticed the windows sound enhancements "loudness equalization" feature is GREAT!!!!.
I'm telling you, I can watch movies and actually be comfortable. Every single time I do like a fresh format or do some crazy config change and that thing gets turned off and then I go to watch a movie, I'm sitting there grabbing the control because one moment some one's talking and then the next thing is a car crash and my ears are starting to ache it got so loud. I hate that junk. Never fails. Like every movie. That loudness equalization thing saved my life.
Yeah that is a must use setting for PCs, makes everything sound better and louder with a good setup. For my TV at least the TVs sound leveling setting basically does the same thing which actually improves how the TVs crappy speakers sound.
which is what i recommended people to enable in the product review i posted for the TV on Amazon. Makes quite the difference when using the TVs down firing speakers, which i no longer have to do using a soundbar.
I had a Sound Blaster sound card and it was good, and I am currently using a Realtek, Sound Blaster has a higher audio sample rate, Realtek is good also.
