Old water cooling rad cleaning
So I still have my dual rad that I used with a Swiftech build years ago and am curious as to what the best way to really clean it would be? The rad is solid. Just needs a good scrub and new fans.

Did you use any dyes in the loop before? If you did then you need to do a small temporary loop setup and use it to clean the insides with a strong solution of vinegar + distilled water and run it through the insides of the rad for a while, an hour or so then drain it, re-fill it with straight distilled water, fill the temp loop and top it off then let it run for another hour or so then drain that. This is what I've been doing to clean the insides of old computer water radiators for the pats 15 years. It's always worked.

I was referring to cleaning the outside, actually.

As for the inside, I ran a cpu loop for 10yrs without once taking it apart. When I finally did, I totally expected the cpu block to be filled with gunk. But there was barely anything inside. Can't remember which coolant I used, but I also added I think it was called biocide?
This rad has been sitting around for several yrs and the outside is filthy. Is it safe to run hot water over the fins then let it air dry?

Just realized the fans were Scythe Infinity. One still works great whereas the other is somehow missing a blade.
