DLSS is blurry for me
I'm on a 1080p monitor and is it really worth using DLSS or does the resolution not matter?

Distant textures on billboards etc in stuff like cyberpunk have more detail with dlss on than at native, that is a fact meanwhile you need to specifically look for where it looks worse, this is at 4k mind you, the lower the res the worse it does, at 1080p it can look bad especially below quality setting.

Once more you seem to be someone who has not tried it themselves or have a busted setup on a cheap screen.
There are two ways to look at it.

4K with DLSS quality upscales from 1440p. The performance is close to 1440p.
Do we compare it to 4K native or 1440p native?

Here are nice comparisons showing 4K vs DLSS quality vs FSR quality.
I personally like FSR quality on still images but FSR sucks in motion.
I think upscaling lowers the quality a tiny bit at 4K but also gives big performance boost what often leads to better sharpness when moving camera due to higher FPS.
DLSS at 1440p is much, much worse as it upscales from 960p. Yes, below 1080p.

As I understand it, DLSS is not intended for 1080P.
Grab a jar of Vaseline (most gamers have one "Handy"), smear it over the screen then you get the picture.

Funny ppl buying nice monitors with low latency HDR etc 4K high refresh rates, low latency mice and keyboards top end CPU and GPU then they apply up-scaling and or frame gen.

This is like buying a sports car then demanding vaseline on the front window so things appear faster

It's the opposite to that.
You have enough performance for 1440p. Then upscale to 4K.
If you have enough performance for native 4K then don't use upscaling. Simple.
But if you have console like specs that are enough just for 1080p native then why not upscale it to 4K? Are you saying it will look worse?
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
