can't uninstall Python 3.10.10
i'm trying to uninstall this specific Python version in my computer because i need Python 3.10.6 for Stable Diffusion. however, i couldn't uninstall it directly from the Control Panel for some reason. the uninstaller said it uninstalls successfully, but the files are still there. i could delete the files but the installer's still there in the programs and features and i still couldn't install Python 3.10.6 due to it detecting another install. although, it's gone from the CMD.

i tried literally almost everything from deleting the executable in the WindowsApps folder, removing them from the PATH variable, and stuff.

can anyone help me with this? last thing i wanted to do is just to install damn 3.10.6.

What I normally do under such circumstance is delete all the files then run a registry cleaner to find and delete anything relating to that software.
If you have any trouble deleting them then use something like "Unlocker".

A lot of people say register cleaners are unnecessary in this modern age and do more harm than good. It's not true at all.

Though using an advanced uninstaller like Revo or BCUninstaller to prevent leftover bits in the first place is a better way to go.

Can’t you have both installed at the same time and just use the version you choose?

i would use a registry cleaner, but i don't know which one should i use. i do have AOMEI Partition Assistant which iirc have a registry cleaner.

also nothing was locking the folder btw, used PowerToys' FIle Locksmith once though to fix that

problem is, this is a bugfix version of Python 3.10.x, not a minor version like 3.11 or something.

if it's a minor/major version, then i could run multiple versions of Python.

I can see how that's difficult. I'm sure I remember having to install a specific maintenance release (possibly for SD).
I'm not really sure how it installs in Windows... so there's no separate directory or .exe for 3.10.6 and 3.10.10? ie Python3106 and Python31010.

Or maybe try using anaconda or miniconda.... does "conda install python=3.10.6" work?

thanks! i used Bulk Crap Uninstaller from your recommendation, and since it's open source. surprisingly it worked! it detected some registries and i deleted them, now i'm able to install 3.10.6!

i was also on a lookout for a better uninstaller too. in the past i used IObit Uninstaller and Uninstall Tool, both programs are paid and kinda terrible. this one's better than both uninstallers i used. so thanks!

Boot into Windows Safe Mode
Delete the entire application by looking for the app name or brand name who makes the app within Program Files, Program Files (x86), as well as within the %appdata% folder
Once the program is deleted, restart normally.

Run CCleaner and do the complete Reg Cleaner and repair.
When its done, run it once more to be sure.
Reboot when done.

Install other version of the app like normal.
