edit: listen to this guy instead V
But yea you can just run 1920x1080p on any 4K TV or Monitor.
Just change the in-game screen res.
No need to change it in Windows OS.
How do I lock my mouse to the game? Alot of games dont let me lock the mouse to the screen.
Also, changing the game from 4k to 1920x1080 is extremely stretched in full screen, and still have the issue of it being 42 inches.
Window mode works, but I often open inventory and tab out itll close or reduce my game.
Also is there no real difference between 120hz and 240hz? Thanks again and Hi @BadMotha, I value your insight, you have helped in the past with advise. I find your knowledge to be useful in many cases.
Exit game first.
Bring up NVIDIA Control Panel > Change Desktop Size
Change the Scaling option to "No Scaling"
Then click APPLY in lower right
Now re-test the game set to Full Screen @ 1920x1080
Perfect, this turns the monitor/tv to 1080p and black screen around the rest, so there is no risk of clicking out of the game. Thanks man, this will do fine, and saved me $150 to put towards bills!
take my points! btw any opinion on 120hz vs 240hz?
I get 80 to 160 at 4k. So I would assume at 1080p I would see alot more.
But for games like BattleBit, Fortnite, Arma 3, CSGO any pvp shooter really, 120hz is enough? I am a late bloomer coming to the PVP side of gaming lol So I am a bit ignorant to pvp. I always liked RGP and max graphics
That's high end stuff; if you don't mind playing at 4K and PC can handle it well enough sure.
For 1440p they've kind of gone above 240 as the base now; many of those screens are around 260-280Hz.
If you go 21:9 however that's a different story; wider screen, more pixels, higher FoV
at around 144Hz; which still is perfectly fine.
It might help to set this under NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings
Vertical Sync = Fast
If you can't use GSync.
VSync in NVCP set to either Adaptive or Fast
should help stabilize the FPS a bit and help prevent head-ache inducing screen-tearing.
I have the LG C3 4k 120hz It has GSync, I was just reading some stuff and ppl are saying 120 isnt great for pvp, and I saw some cheap 240hz on amazon, so I was debating if it was worth it to snag one but with now putting this at 1080 it helps alot smaller screen to focus on
How big is that one? 42 inch?
Maybe get yourself 32 or 34 inch 1440p @ around 260-280Hz would be better for competitive game types where high FPS really helps.
You definitely can and will notice the difference. It's not just a visual thing. Your inputs are all effected by it as well. Think of the difference between a really low Mouse DPI vs a really high one; how much changes by switching to the high DPI.
Not the best example I know since some people can't stand extremely high mouse dpi settings; but visually it doesn't help with high refresh rate. Even when still dealing with 60-100 FPS it will definitely feel smooth in the frames transitions when using around 144Hz or higher.
I appreciate the honesty, yeah I have always been a slave to graphics, and a 42 inch OLED is god tier for RPG and MMO, ill just shrink the screen for pvp games. Free points to you too for helping :)
