Is Crucial ram reliable and ok for gaming?
Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory CT2K16G4DFRA32A https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08C4LXXCJ/?coliid=I3CPUAELGDC0ZU&colid=350OXRRYW2U9K&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

and

Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory CT2K8G4DFRA32A https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08C53LL9J/?coliid=I20DZJEOVKY9C4&colid=350OXRRYW2U9K&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I have my eye on two options above

Would I be better of using Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 and ditching/removing my old 16gb DDR4 3200MHz

and installing Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory instead??

2x8gb is $46 at amazon.ca

2x16gb is $79 at amazon.ca

All the ram at best buy and walmart is more expensive and I have amazon prime which has free S&H on sponsored goods, both links above are sponsored

my current ram

16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz, XMP

Just like CPUs, all ram is manufactured in the same place and it gets distributed to third party companies. There is just different branding. Some brands put their yields through more thorough testing resulting in a lower failure rate(and higher price). Go with what you found works best for you in the past.

Also you should ask in the Hardware Discussion forum

Won't deliver much difference.
Keep existing ram and add 16GB more.
Ensure the same models are installed on slot 1,3 and 2,4.

Crucial is a reliable brand. The only brand I've ever had issues with is G.Skill.

You'll soon know about RAM issues, random shutdowns, crashes and BSODs. I've stuck with Kingston/HyperX for a while and have always had reliable performance.

But brand loyalty can be a problem, case in point ASUS. But HyperX seems quite good.

As for your listed choices, can you not do better than CL22? Honestly, if forget about CL22 and go for 3600 CL16.

If you're going to the trouble of upgrading with your current config I would avoid CL22.

This calculator can come in handy when shopping for RAM.

There's a lot of companies that assemble RAM modules, but only like three who actually manufacture the memory chips themselves.
Micron, SK Hynix and Samsung, with some other less common ones.
So if you bought Galax branded RAM, it'd have the exact same components as the Crucial one. Where the value differs is going to be in the features (like RGB, overclocking and timings), the materials (does it have a beefy heatspreader?) and the warranty.

If you get any popular brand you'll do fine(Corsair/G Skill etc) just stay away from the obscure ones. Make sure to research the highest ram clock speed available on your mobo. Then fill up all the slots with the most ram per stick available with that clock speed. Then you never have to think about RAM again.

If your wallet can't handle filling all the slots at once just buy them two at a time, and fill them in how Irene says. Just make sure they are all the exact same ram sticks.

Crucial is a brand of Micron, which is in the business of making RAM for over 40 years now. They should've things figured out by now.

Iirc, some of Micron's RAM modules are still made in U.S.A.

CL22 for 3200 Mhz is trash, you would want CL16 for 3200 Mhz.

I seen this above and they have a 6 month chequing debit plan, I did that before on a gaming chair with them

Wow! What happened to RAM prices in the past two weeks?

I know the links are in CAD, but I picked up 16GB (2x8GB) of G.SKILL Ripjaws 3200 on 9/10 for $35 USD. Checking my past orders, it's not even available from Amazon anymore and resellers are asking $50 for it.

Yes Walmart and best buy are asking around a hundred or more for both (2x8gb) and (2x16gb)

my RAM and my Hard drive from this company, great quality.

All the chips are nearly identical and come from the same place, just with different brand names. You're fine.

Do not buy cl22, you will regret it.

As mentioned above, go for a DDR4 3200 CL16 especially for Ryzen.

Currently running Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 3200 CL16 and very happy with it over the last 3 years.

For ryzen you want ideally 3600 cl14
