Is Crucial ram reliable and ok for gaming?
Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory CT2K16G4DFRA32A https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08C4LXXCJ/?coliid=I3CPUAELGDC0ZU&colid=350OXRRYW2U9K&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

and

Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory CT2K8G4DFRA32A https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08C53LL9J/?coliid=I20DZJEOVKY9C4&colid=350OXRRYW2U9K&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I have my eye on two options above

Would I be better of using Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 and ditching/removing my old 16gb DDR4 3200MHz

and installing Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory instead??

2x8gb is $46 at amazon.ca

2x16gb is $79 at amazon.ca

All the ram at best buy and walmart is more expensive and I have amazon prime which has free S&H on sponsored goods, both links above are sponsored

my current ram

16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz, XMP

For ryzen you want ideally 3600 cl14

Too expensive, almost twice as much as 3600 CL16 that is also perfectly fine.

And in some cases good luck finding some quality Samsung B-die RAM

I think I have that kit (or some version of it) in my 32GB RAM machine and the 16GB version (which I think comes in at CL17. Can't remember, don't care) in two others. They were reasonably priced and run fine, which is all I really ask.

There's a ton of variety - the chips may be manufactured in the same few places.. but what happens after that with handling, testing, assembly into the actual ram sticks, quality control, etc all play a large role in the performance and longevity of the final product. With everything else, always choose a reputable brand.

Crucial seems to be a good brand overall.

Avoid kingston and gskill

Just like CPUs, all ram is manufactured in the same place and it gets distributed to third party companies. There is just different branding. Some brands put their yields through more thorough testing resulting in a lower failure rate(and higher price). Go with what you found works best for you in the past.

Also you should ask in the Hardware Discussion forum

Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix all produce RAM chips. Crucial is just the consumer brand Micron gives to their RAM.

Further down you can find the item number PVS432G360C8K. You can look that up on the official website to be sure:
https://viper.patriotmemory.com/products/viper-steel-ddr4-performance-memory-ram-viper-gaming-by-patriot-memory

Tested Timings: 18-22-22-42

Which are pretty poor. And a quick look at the community it seems to be Hynix M-die. Nothing to brag about. You can do deeper searcher with the number and see what users and overclockers say.

Both of the kits you are linking are very old models, they perform much works and probably also cost a lot more than modern faster options.

Just go to any retrail or etrailer and grab the cheapest DDR4 3200Mhz kit they have available, reasonable chance it will be a nice fast CL16-18 instead of this CL22 stuff.

I have a couple tax credits coming in October last time one of the tax credits was over three hundred dollars, if that's the case again, I'll go to best buy and see about ram there, I don't think there are any Canada computers in my area or Ottawa anymore, all the PC repair and installation store are small ma and pa run stores, one down the street from me even fixes lawnmowers, I don't trust a computer place that smell's like gas, plus the owner couldn't quote a proper install, removal or repair price!..
