Keyboard isn't functioning on Steam games
I first had this problem with Skyrim SE. There was serious input lag, which would come and go
between playthroughs almost at random. I reasonably thought this was a modding issue, as I had added some before the problem spiked. However, once the keyboard ceased to work entirely (the mouse was fine), I couldn't even ALT + tab or CTRL + ALT + DEL to close the program. I then switched to other games, such as Mount & Blade and Empire: Total War. In both instances, my keyboard ceased to function from the input lag. Clearly this isn't a modding issue and it only effects Steam programs. I don't use a controller, so the usual options I found online aren't going to work. Does anyone know what's happening and how I can fix this?

Also, forgive me for cross posting. I'm not allowed to take down the other thread for some forsaken reason.

Are you just using Steam Client or do you also bring up Big Picture Mode?

What's your full PC Specs?

Also ensure to go into Windows settings and disable hot keys that could enable Sticky Keys or Mouse Keys options.

If you have hardwares acceleration in Steam enabled try turn that off and restart Steam and re-test again. Also helps to get Library settings to Low Performance + Low Bandwidth modes as well.

I did what you said and tested Skyrim. Although some movements are janky now with my player zerging a bit when opening doors or drawing weapons, the input lag has been reduced. It is still present, however, and the input lag may return. I occasionally manage an hour long playthrough without input lag, rare as that is, so the reduced lag may be a fluke. I'll get back to you after a few more test runs through the week.

Best changes to start with will be what all is covered in this video...

Once you are back into Windows after the changes.

Wipe out everything for AMD Drivers/Software.

Do this using DDU app (Display Driver Uninstaller) and select the Safe Mode + Reboot option within the app. Then select Graphics > AMD > Clean and Restart.

Then download + install latest Drivers from here...

Check to see if your your BIOS is current. Try other peripherals.

An OEM PC like these HP will auto update the BIOS revision via Windows Updates.

Not even worth checking then. No reason to use DDU either if windows is automatically installing optional updates.

Would not hurt though.
Press WINKEY+I
Go to Updates > Windows Updates > Check for Updates
See if any Optionals are showing up.

I'm in a bit of trouble with the video's instructions. I got an HP with Windows 11, so my BIOS look nothing like the video's. I can't find the CSM to disable. Would it be safe to assume that I shouldn't go ahead with your suggestions until after configuring the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G?

Of course the HP BIOS will look different but it should at least have the options to change the memory buffer and such as this is crucial for using the GPU onboard the Ryzen CPU properly.

Can still proceed with using DDU to wipe out drivers and install latest ones from AMD

Neither my BIOS or BIOS setup (or anywhere on the UEFI Firmware Settings) have anything on a frame or memory buffer.
