Thinking about getting a MSI AMD Radeon HD 7850 1GB GPU
I use a stock Dell XPS 8300 and read that I won't have to get a higher wattage PSU to support it(already 460 watts I believe). I'm pretty sure my pc's CPU can already handle the upgrade(i5-2320 @ 3.0GHz). It also has 6GB Ram. Any thoughts?

Note: This would be my first pc upgrade/building of any kind. I've researched pc building and parts/specs, but am a complete novice, so please be patient with my ignorance.

HD 7850 is older generation and needs two 6-pin PCI-E power cables from PSU. This PSU seems to be generic PSU with no PCI-E power connectors.
Also XPS 8300 case has not much room for longer graphics cards so HD 7850 would prob not fit.
Probably better to just go with GTX 750 Ti, short card and doesnt need PCI-E power connectors:

Max you could do with this PSU is maybe R7 265, this needs one 6-pin PCI-E power connector and you can use adapter that comes with graphics card to plug the card into two free molex plugs from PSU if your PSU doesnt have 6-pin PCI-E connector.

This is one of the shorter R7 265 cards, 8.74" long. Need to measure inside the case at the graphics card slot if it would fit inside the case.
You will be fine running a 7850 and a non overclocked i5 on a 460 watt PSU. The cpu is fine only time you worry about that is when pairing a very powerfull card with a crappy cpu that will bottleneck it. That i5 matches great with a card like that. Or pretty much anyother card. Go for it.
r9 270 (non x) uses a single 6 pin as well and if that 460watt psu is decent and you dont overclock you should be fine
Can also go with GTX 660, this is one of the shortest ones with 7.52" and needs one 6-pin connector:

Basicly same performance as R9 270.
270 is nothing like a 660; it blows that away.
660 stuggles @ 1080p
Thanks for the answers guys!
I'm going to go with the MSI R9 270. I think I'll be able get a PSU with it also. How does this one look? http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cx-series-cx600m-modular-atx-power-supply-600-watt-80-plus-bronze-certified-modular-psu
Is there any advantage to getting a better PSU, maybe for future upgardes? What if I want to OC?
Thanks for all your help guys!

cx600 is fine for any single gpu
its good, but not the best
may have some coil whine, but has working protections and will not kill components if all goes wrong
