Intel i5 2500k vs 3570k vs 4670k vs 4690k which should i get?
I'm leaning towards the 4690,because it's cheaper...

intel numbering first number is gen for i series
xxx = 1st gen
2xxx = 2nd gen
3xxx = 3rd gen
4xxx = 4th gen

k= unlocked multi, requires a zxx mobo

if hte 4690k is cheapest get it with a 97 board
else, 4670k and a z87 board if that combo costs less

4690K and Z97 board. It's the latest CPU and chipset, no point really going for old ones.
