Recent FE cards tend to be just fine as they dont have sucky coolers like they used to, so theres not really any reason not to get one if you can.
My gtx 1080 is a Founders card. It has no overclocks, no rgb and runs the simpler "blower" style of fan--a single fan. You pay more of course for these things.

Does it mean it's also the cheapest-built? No, that has not been my experience--the gpu is over 7 years old and still runs fine. It's just no longer competitive in terms of comparative performance and the blower runs constantly at around 1100 rpm instead of being easily adjusted via software.

So the upshot is that people can relay their stories about Founders cards from their personal experiences but that's it. If you don't care for bling, or three fans or a factory overclock, then you can save some money by buying a Founders card.

Here's some info on Founders gpu/s:

Despite the common attitude about FE , as if NVidia have done it well this time with RTX 4060ti FE . The card has better thermals than of Palit and PNY . If NVidia keep this quality for RTX 4060 FE , it would be nice to have . Yep, i expect Asus/MSI will release better ones .
FE are solid. I'm running a 3070 FE and it's by far the coolest running card I've every owned. Pretty quiet too.
