Instant post AM5, it´s possible.
I don´t know how to prove this but my system started immediately after I made two changes, on top of it it´s an ASUS mobo which actually is supposed to be one of slower ones to post. Can´t record while shutting down the pc though.

Anyway, neither changes worked on their own.

The first change was to use EXPO 1 and choose the second option which "downgraded" my RAM to 5600 from 6000, I checked Youtube and the performance loss is negligible. It also lowers the voltage from 1.35 to 1.25.

The second change was to turn "memory training" on, something mentioned in a lot of posts and Youtube as well.

I didn´t expect an instant post though, I have tested the system for about 30 minutes and it passed with flying colours.

The first boot was slow though, the second and hereafter it has been instantaneous post/boot. I get into windows in about 5 seconds upon pressing the power button.

To clarify:

Post : The time it takes to get anything on the monitor.

Boot: The time it takes to get into windows.

PS: On top of everything the system is a lot snappier now.

Nothing is overclocked ... the contrary is the case, voltages and temps look excellent. I can imagine a bsod at times but hoping it will run fine from now on.

It wan't just an Asus issue and it has been addressed in recent AGESA/Bios updates.

As far as post times go my system has taken about 15 seconds from pressing the power button to the Windows login. That is running DOCP II and Memory Context Restore, (4) 16gb 6000 cl30 dimms. I know some people have issues with MCR but it's always worked fine for me.

Yup, Asus got the flack because of how they worded notes for a Bios update. Essentially being update with this Beta Bios that may fix the issue, it didn't, and in doing so void your warranty or don't update bios and risk damage to CPU and maybe motherboard. Should have worded it better or not even bothered making it available, especially when it didn't work anyway

I think the whole warranty thing was blown out of proportion. AMD and Asus both issued statements at the very start that if you were affected by the issue to start the RMA process and they would take care of it. The beta bios disclaimer has been used by Asus for as long as I can remember. I work for a large corporation and I can tell you legal teams are a thing, but people where trying to make it seem like Asus just started to use this disclaimer in an attempt to avoid responsibility which just isn't true. Maybe they could have done some things different but I think it was turned into a bigger thing that it actually was.

it was not just asus warranty statements, its that they were overvolting by the most in the first place

I have a 7700x and boot time from button to desktop is around 35 secs, Double that of my 8yr old windows 10 install on my old build with a 4770K.

First world problems? lol

That's even faster than my AM4 system with a similar memory configuration.

However, I know a lot of what is slowing down my BIOS time is the number of drives I use too.

The fastest "off to on" system I ever had was ironically the cheapest and slowest. It was a Dell laptop with a 4010U and Crucial BX500 (low end SATA SSD). It didn't matter if I had 2 GB in it (came with 6 GB, later upgraded to 16 GB), it started faster than anything else I ever had.

Just tried, my real name is on the Windows sign-in screen and I don´t want that, have no idea how to edit videos and not really interested in learning that.

Another thing which baffled me is how dirty it is around here, my camera picked up what I can´t see with my bare eyes, time to do some cleaning.

But I have no real reason to lie about this, I actually wrote another post earlier this month about how unhappy I was with the AM5 setup because of slow post times.

You can go into task manager under "startup apps" and in the upper right there is a "last bios time" which is basically your post time. I think 5 seconds is probably a bit of a stretch for AM5.

Well I get a solid 7.3s BIOS time on Windows 10 with a i5-10600K and 16 GB of DDR4 (3000) so getting sub-5 seconds is probably not that hard on modern hardware.

That said, I don't think post/boot-time is a very important metric on computers as it is. Even, with double-digit boot times I wasn't about to sit in front of the screen and groan about how slow it was on any of my previous PCs.
It's kinda like how it takes a few seconds for fluorescent lights to flicker on in the basement after flicking the wall switch, which is a minor inconvenience at worst.
