You need to check Windows Updates history. It could be a problem where MS went behind your back and changed your AMD GPU Driver.

virtual super resolution is an older function of AMD's gfx-board driver. i cant say what happened, but i dont think that microsoft is too dumb to decide what driver is needed. the problem is crazy!? i cant tell what it is.

Most definitely will be what Bad Motha is saying. AMD always does this, actually it's windows but still it's bull.

We used to have this issue with NVIDIA; luckily MS doesn't do that anymore.
Like a while back, I installed 522.25 but some newer driver was out.
I even clean installed it and all. Left the PC idle for a bit while I did some other stuff, come back and dam if it didn't auto download some newer driver I didn't want from Windows Updates. After I rebooted the NVIDIA Control Panel was all dumbed down, missing all kinds of stuff.

I guess NVIDIA put their foot down or something. Not sure.

But it's still a possible problem for AMD GPU users.

Best bet is ensure Auto Update Drivers for Windows Updates is turned off.

Then DDU wipe out everything for GPUs via Safe Mode.

Then reboot and install latest Motherboard Chipset and Dedicated GPU Drivers.
I'm glad I only have one AMD card. I want to get another but it's issues like this that keep me from doing so. I got so sick of trying to open the GPU app and it not working and going "oh yeah, AMD strikes again". Then going to device manager and rolling back because this was actually way faster than ddu.

I thought this crap would be fixed by now.

Might need to turn off FreeSync.
Don't think that can be enabled while using VSR

the function (may call it "button") is away, or isnt it? is this the problem or not?

VSR is older than RX6000 itself and it should be next to Adaptive Sync (FreeSync) and both can work at the same time.

Try an older version of Adrenalin?

VSR is working just fine, confirmed this evening on 1080p, 1440p, 4k, and 24:9 3840*1440. On RX6k (6900 and 6800 xt's) and 7900xtx.

If its not working for you its either your settings, your (individual) software install, or something specific to your build that is different enough to break things.

You trying to use an otherwise outright weird and exotic the the point of being odd-ball (compared to PC Gamers as a whole) screen rez, and *then* wanting to run that rez at a beyond native value when it is already 7/8th the rez of 4k native is well, just a you thing.

NV cards may work, honestly not sure about this specific use case. But one thing is for sure, its entirely caused by your individual use case and not by a product issue from any company.

Use weird rez options, get weird issues.

Dont get me wrong, you probably have a super high end Samsung odesy or something. But its one of a few in a field of thousands. Still the odd ball option even if its an expensive one from a big maker.
