How do I prevent it from going to sleep ? Therefore stop slowing down My Computer and windows explorer in general on my PC.

Mainly would prevent a script or something on task manager if possible. Not another program. If possible. Thanks.

I heard if you write a small file to it ever few minutes it will keep it awake.

you can try with window power settings
but many external enclosures use their own setting to put the drive to sleep

You could make a powershell ise script or power automate desktop recorder feature (comes with win 11 need to download for free with win 10 from the windows store).

Maybe create a task in task scheduler?

Other than that power settings if they work would be the best.
