Which build is most silent?
I'm turning 16 this year and I think it's time for me to learn how to build a PC. I have put 4 builds together (on paper) and I'm going to buy the most silent one.

Which build will be most silent while playing a demanding game on max settings in 1080p? 25" 144hz screen.

Build B
CPU: i5-13600Kf 14 Core (5.1GHz)
GPU: Asus GeForce RTX 4070Ti 12GB TUF
PSU: Corsair RM750 Semipassive 80plus gold
Cooling: Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Elite 240mm Silent watercooling

Since you are new to this you have to learn that you have to start with a good case. A good silent case here. So you have to look at what you want and what reviews say. The more silent the case, the less air flow. And the less air flow the warmer the system. And then you have to figure out if the graphics card and the radiator both fit into the case.
And if noise is your major concern, you want low RPM fans. Which means you need a larger radiator with at least 3 fans.
I would think build A since it's the weakest and stronger parts get hotter and need fans working harder to cool?
gpu is the loudest part in a gaming system most of the time followed by the cpu cooler and after that the case fans + psu... tbh i have no clue how loud the h100i is but as overseer said lager cooler = less noise...

I didn't know that a silent case = a warmer system.. Now that I know this I will just pick the one that looks coolest (Corsair Crystal 465X RGB VG-Edition) The rest of the PC must be silent though. With this information I think build B is the most silent if I switch the H100i out with Asus ROG Ryujin.

Thank you so far. Let's see what other people will say too. Someone might own one of these cards.
There is another thing that is often overlooked. And that is coil whine. Especially at higher frame rates. It depends on each individual model. Not the "GPU" but the card itself. Some are louder, some not really noticeable. You would have to check community feedback to find one that is less prone to this and ensure that people play at higher frame rates.

Got it. I'm going for the Asus Rog Ryujin then because it has 3 fans. I think the corsair one had 2 and they were smaller too.

I've just looked up Coil Whine. Uhh, that can be a nasty sound. I will keep this in mind too, thank you.
Hey, I actually changed my answer man. I actually took that second paragraph more seriously (I usually like skim through it, sorry).

But since you specified 1080p max settings I think the stronger one would be the most silent. Because since it won't be struggling too hard it might run that resolution easily and not even need the fans where the weaker hardware will still probably need to give it "all it's got" to even run 1080p max settings.

Of course the whole issue with that is that you'd be overspending on specs you aren't utilizing....

that's ok, it's a lot of text, so just skim if that's your style. You're right, so I think we can cross out the 4060.. It's not gonna be the 4090 either because it's too expensive, and it probably won't be more silent than the 4080 since none of them will struggle in 1080p.. So we're down to either B or C now.

Motherboards, ram, ssds make no noise, the GPUs and PSUs you list are all silent at low loads. Neither case looks like they have any silencing qualities. A bigger radiator with more slower fans could potentially be quieter under equivalent load. I have no knowledge of those listed.

You go from an i5 with a 4060 to an i9 with a 4090. You need to make up your mind on your budget and what you expect to do with it first.

Buy the cheapest one and some nice earplugs.

The fans are of the same size, different making, 240 and 360 in the names meaning 2 and 3 120mm fans.
If you're not particularly into RGB stuff (although it seems that you are), I'd suggest checking out the Corsair 5000D Airflow case and Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 cooler as alternatives.

That's kinda misleading when they say 360 mm in specs on the website. It would make more sense to write 3 x 120mm.

what does waterblocks on chips mean? There is only water inside of the case.
