I wouldn't mind ads, I use to not care to block them, they didn't bother me but have you ever watched youtube recently without one? Or vist some modern sites? Idk how people do it, must just fork out money on top of their other 40 other streaming services lol
I also recently ordered an Invizbox router. Aside from VPN, my current router doesn't support a full hosts file. Just "parental controls" that can only store a handful of domains to block.

Noscript Disables all scripts. Install it and try viewing a few sites and you'll find some have ridiculous amounts. May only need 1-3 for a site to work correctly but they have 10 or more. Used Noscript for years and it can get a bit tedious to begin with as you need to figure out what scripts are required for a site to work and what can be left blocked. If it's a site you use frequently you can set each of the required scripts to be permanently remembered so you don't have to do the trial and error.
Can also export/import your noscript trusted scripts list so you don't need to go through the trial and error for every site again should you need to reinstall it
thx in advance.
Only reason I use Chrome is because Edge constantly trying to force Bing down my throat.
Still use Edge currently for Netflix and other streaming services as it supports HEVC codec for 4k video. Firefox, Chrome, and other browsers don't pay the licensing fee's so are stuck with 720p.
Why don't you use Brave?
Part of the reason I have Chrome is just for demonstration purposes since most of our clients are using Chrome.
Since Edge uses Chromes engine, whatever Chrome does to prevent ad blocking will likely make its way into Edge (unless MS decide to start integrating ad blocking in Edge, but I'm not sure how likely that is).
Noscript is far more powerful, but you have to do a lot more tinkering to make things work.
Adblock plus is basically worthless at this point, it lets so many ads through that it’s essentially just a security blanket that makes you feel better.
