Manufacturers and shops only offer what they are legally required to, anything else is either goodwill on their part, or as part of a paid subscription plan.

1 year warranties are commonly on budget and entry-level machines.

If you want a 3 year warranty you should instead look at business-focused devices, which cost significantly more but are also of much higher quality.

There is a lot of competition in the gaming laptop segment, most of these entry-level machines are of very poor quality and tend to just last a few years.

They are very much entry level. Specs mean little in this regard, a machine may have an i9 and a 2080 ti and still be of entry level quality.

For a decent quality gaming laptop with mid-range specs (i5/i7, 3060/3070, 16GB) you will be paying $1500+, which is quite a bit more than the similarly specced $800 entry level models.

These major manufacturers like Asus tend to default to short 1/2 year warranties on consumer devices with rare exception.

Unless you plan on dropping it often or spill coffee on it every morning I don't think there is a need for 3 year warranty on laptops.
Just don't buy those super cheap laptops.
Years ago I bought a super cheap Lenovo laptop which I used when I was traveling for 6 months and that one only lasted 1 year before the screen started to become really dim.
While my current Asus gaming laptop is over 3 years old and has been working flawlessly since day one.
5 years warranty in Norway on most stuff.
That's why they don't sell s*** to Norway.
If you gonna spill coffee on it you need to buy securance for it in Norway.

dont want to end up with a $1200 paperweight in 1 year if accident happens
warranty period depends on product quality, corsair RMx or HX series PSUs come with 10 years warranty, but CX or CV series has only 2 years.
If you don't plan on travel a lot and mostly play games at your own place then a desktop would be ideal. A $1200 desktop is usually a lot faster than a similarly priced laptop while being able to upgrade and repair.
we use solar power so need battery laptop
Most Manufacturers won't warranty Gaming Laptops more than 1 year because of probably the Battery Life degradation.

A 1 year warranty is more than sufficient in most cases. Electronics generally have a "bath tub" shaped failure curve meaning that they fail early on or way down the line. Obviously there are failures between but those numbers tend to be fairly low overall. If you aren't comfortable with the risk most stores will gladly sell you an extended warranty because they are aware of the failure curve and know that the most of the time it's free money for them.

1yr!!! Damm you get 2 in the EU and more using creditcard. Personally i expect 5 years i have a 5yr warranty on my gpu and 10 on my psu.

So why are they so stingy? Have they not got confidence in thier products?
yeah thats what im wondering
1 year is always standard. If you want 3-4 years you need to upgrade the warranty from the laptop makers support website after purchase. Or get an extended warranty from the place of purchase
