You dont use low textures, You use them and the resolution and Ansiotropic Filtering at the maximum. Everything else is what goes on low to save performance.
3840x2160
16xAF
Ultra Textures
Everything else Low
Ok, if you are so smart then do screenshoot in some modern video games where one of them will be low settings in 4K and another gonna be ultra settings 1080p , and we gonna see which look better.
And at 4K everything have to be on LOW, like you said
A game maxed out at 1440P still looks great even at 1080P or 4K..
Example.

No ty i already did this back when dead space launched on pc and used dsr to swap between 1080p and 4k on the fly. Image quality is superior to graphics. 1080p has sparkling and shimmering and aliasing 4k low will have a clean picturesque look to it.
1080p isnt natural, Look at the realworld or a movie and art and you see a picturesque image. Hence 4k low wins for me. You can also shift the bottleneck from the cpu as well to the GPU and which one is more powerful and upgradeable? I only see benefits and wins for 4k low.
Except Im running 4x the pixels? 4k vs 1080p is a huge difference in image quality lol. Whats your point
He doesnt even get 1080p anyways in modern games they force on DLSS so its sub 1080p what is it 720p? At least at 4k low dlss game can only force you to 1440p and no lower. 1080p is just nasty.
When its a toss up between forced taa if you disabled dlss then many will consider that forced dlss as the taa option is horrendous. And many modern games like metro series do that. So on 1080p in Metro you either have 1080p with blurry TAA on or use DLSS and render sub 1080p! DLSS was built for 4k.
4K low (low textures, no shadows, no AF/AA, etc), vs 1080 ultra? In that case, I'd say 1080 "looks better". Who cares if you have 4x the pixels, if the pixels are showing garbage?
The details that make up the 1080p image are processed in such a way that they are more visually appealing than the final output image on the 4k screen?
dead space launched in 2008, 4k was not an option for tvs back then
and every 1080p tv had horrible input delays yet, not many with game mode
Noted theres 2 missing from dead space. I used dsr and still do.
Yeah obviously. But in the case of having a rig that is capable of pushing 4k at high settings then it will look better. OP is complaining about how expensive things dont work if you cant afford to run them like obviously running 4k on a 3060 ti wont work.
he says '4K is useless if you have to play on low settings'... Then dont play at low settings and make sure you have a computer that can run the game
