Acer Nitro 5 (Brand New) BSOD
When playing AOE2 on Steam specifically, I get a large amount of BSOD. THis only started happening 2 weeks ago, for the 3 months before never an issue. Brand new computer - tonnes of spare memory and HD. Any ideas? Just unsintalled steam and game but still got 1 BSOD

"Just uninstalled steam and game but still got 1 BSOD"
Then how is that Steam or Game related?
Your PC has obvious issues if you ever get a BSOD on Win10 or 11.

It's a new PC right?
Yes what you want to do is 100% wipe it clean and start over.
Every PC buyer should be doing that after you've gone and tested the device within a short period to decide whether or not to keep it. You want a clean OS and all the latest Windows Updates + latest Drivers.

BSOD can be any number of things - there should be a dump log somewhere, and the BSOD itself should have generated an error code and snippet that may point toward what was at fault. Could be something as simple as a GPU driver in need of update or something as complex as a wlan card failure/defect, or even something as intermittent as a bad memory module. Windows event logs may also shed some light. Best bet, if you are uncertain as to how to do these things, is take it to a local PC shop and try and get them to diagnose it. Sadly, they will likely charge an arm and a leg. I would start by updating windows and all drivers as well as BIOS, maybe resetting windows in case something else that was installed is rearing its head.

For BSOD you need to go and look in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application

One thing you can check and I've seen it before is open it and re seat the memory and check any cables and or plug in cards.

Also if the screen allows for 120Hz or higher, your are most likely going to want to apply a 60 FPS or so max fps limit. As these laptops are well known for over-heating issues.

Since you have problems outside of Steam, I'd start with either a clean OS install or go and do a factory reset of Win11. Then wipe the drivers it came with and go get all the latest drivers for everything. Chipset, GPUs, Audio, LAN, WIFI, BT, TouchPad; etc.
BSOD is a hardware issue. Basically, something happened to your laptop that was so severe that it caused windows to stop immediately.

Windows does this in an attempt to save your data, so I would say windows is working fine and doing it's job. The problem is almost certainly your laptop with it's hardware.

The only issue I've ever ran into with laptops is thermal management. If thermals are unsafe then you run the risk of crashes, freezes, BSODs, heavy frame loss, instability, the list can go on.

After buying a pre-fab machine, first thing to do is to fully fresh and clean install your OS.
email the company to get some records to protect you if the motherboard is bad or something
