my cpu fan broke

I have 240 mm liquid clooer today i was making some optimizations and cleanig up my case some how blower broke one of the 2 fans. They were normaly 2000 rpm fans i have extra 2 fan with 1000 rpm. But i can't replace it own my own liquid coolers realy hard to install for me. + im going to military service at the end of the month.

I test it at 5 minute stress test it reached 75 degree. It heats up realy fast and cools down realy slow right now. Before it was broken i was reaching 35-40 at surfing in the internet or just watching video's. Right now its 45-50 at that. And cpu temps started to efect my gpu temps by +2+3 degree.

I mean it just concerned me. My military service will be 1 month and im thinking replacing the fan after that. So i have 2 question.

-Will it cause any damage ?
-Should i buy 2000 rpm fan or just use one of my 1000 rpm ones?

If it's hard for you to install one of your extra fans, do you have a decent and reputable repair shop convenient to you? Best to have a pro replace it, then, with the proper fan at the proper speed.

No one can guarantee you if replacing the fan or not will cause damage or not. Assume that it well might so why risk it? Spend some extra money for peace of mind.

i have ryzen 5 5500 It was working yesterday today it only has rgb but fan doesnt spin so im sure its broken. And only one is broken other one is running at 2000 rpm. for 5 minute stress test i saw max 75 it could reach higher if i try to run it around 15-30 minutes more.

Fan controller kind a strange at max case fans runs at 1000 rpm and cpu fans was runing 2000 rpm. . At lowest settings cpu fans was off and case fans was around 200-600 rpm. I set my pump at max from bios so it doesnt efect that. But i understand the point you are trying to make. Adding 1000 rpm could be a problem and i have to try hours to make it work.

I don't even see why you bought a 240mm LC for that CPU, a simple single fanned $30 cooler would do fine.

It's normal for Ryzen to run around 70-85*C regardless of the cooler you use.

Download Prime95, extract files to C:\Prime95
Run the app and select Small FFTs + Loop Test
Let that run for approx 15-20 minutes.
Have HWMonitor or AMD Ryzen Master running where you can see the CPU temps.
Ensure that it doesn't go over 83-85*C area, if it's pretty clear its going to hit that, stop the test and let the PC cool down.

If you going to use a fan controller like that; don't let the fans go below 800-1000rpms

The CPU Fan(s) should be linked into PWM fan headers so the Motherboard can control them. If you tie in those to a manually controlled fan controller, chances are the CPU could get too hot if you aren't actually watching the CPU Temps closely.

Im watching my temps till the day i got the pc from msi afterburner. I didn't test it the way you said yet but im gona do it later today. I did test it on division 2 which is a heavy load for cpu, played around 1.5 hour and i saw max 65. But idk i haven't seen above 60 degree offen now its just common.

The reason I ask you to test with Prime95 is because this is very CPU stressing @ 100% load. It should push the CPU way higher then any game would. So while you might get a little worried what you see when running Prime95 (or something like CineBench CPU Test or Intel BurnTest); these are supposed to give you an idea of both CPU stress stability as well as give you a better idea of what your cooling is actually capable of.

Games don't really test that because most games on modern CPUs might only put around a 20-50% load on the CPU as more and more games rely heavily on your GPU.

So you're in the military but installing a CPU fan is too difficult? What? That doesn't make any sense! There's far more complicated things going on in the military that make installing a fan like playing with Lego!

And on top of that, you said you have a whole month! Installing a CPU fan takes about one whole minute. I think you're the first person that I met on here that says they would have a challenge changing out a CPU fan.

Unless you have some physical limitations of course but then you wouldn't be getting deployed either.

Is the CPU safe? I would say so because it will just throttle if it gets hot. You'll know if you have an extreme issue because the PC will Auto shutdown. But the solution is so simple here that it doesn't make sense to run the PC that way. I would change the fan.

Instead of being concerned and running a five minute stress test you could have installed your fan in that time.

You stress tested it at 75C, there is nothing to worry about!
You can use the 1000rpm fan it will work fine.

Just to clarfied im living at Turkey mlitary service is mandatory for mens im not going with my free will. I dont even wanna go but i cant find any decent job with out going + if i dont go i will be like a jailbreaker.

Its only a month so i was wondering is it okay to use it like this till end of the month im planing to change my fan to someone who knows how to do it but i have to much to prepare and i have to do all that while i also work 8,5 hour for 6 days of a week

Today wheather is a bit colder so that 3-4 degree can be understandable for me. But i think my cooler was allready overkill for that cpu. When both of them was running i didn't even see above 60 degree but im also aware 70's isn't realy dangerous. Since one fan broken air flow did also changed in the case so i changed one of my case fans acording to that to balance the airflow.

But again, tests like Prime95 are quite extreme. Games are never going to push these cpus so much that they hit above 80-85*C
