Windows 7 support ends?? wtf??
My gaming pc still runs windows 7.. this was a willfull chooise.. as windows 10 does not support many of the games I like to run.

I just read steam will stop supporting windows 7 Big red banner..
what exactly does that mean?

-can I still install/play my games just not recieve any updates??
-can I still reinstal the last working version of steam for windows 7 after this date?
-can I still install/reinstal my games under windows 7 after this date?
-can I still play my library under windows 7 after this date?

**installing every game in my library and play in offline mode only.. is ofcourse possible..
would likely need to buy a much larger m.2 for that though+an external drive for a backup.
-Or does even the offline launcher no longer work after this date?

Is this a FORCED update to windows 10?? rendering twothirds of my games unplayable?
**upgrading to windows 11 is out of the question, hardware not new enough
**installing my entire library will be very costly.

WTF steam WTF..

please give me more info..

-can I somehow like I still use windows 7.. keep using my games on steam under windows 7 after the deadline on this scary red banner hits?

until 2029... For gaming/work/web browsing - seamlessly - and there's absolutely no reason to upgrade to a newer system
You're a bit wrong there. Web browsing is out after September 2024. It won't be safe to do any more after that point in Windows 7. You mentioned gaming: If you stay on Windows 7 then you are excluded from playing some games.
It'd be surprising for Windows 7 users to last to 2025 depending on what they want to be able to do or play on their systems.

I think it's going to be the Windows 7 users who become surprised as their favorite programs they want to use on the internet slowly stop working 1-by-1 over the next 2-3 years and they are left with almost nothing to do on their computer. They all think they can just continue using Windows 7 forever because it's all still working today. They're going to be in for a big shock pretty soon.

You're better off not using Waterfox, they're owned and managed by a marketing company these days so you can't even trust that your browsing is even private. That's the irony with a lot of these browsers promising privacy, it depends on who's in control of it.

If Firefox won't run on your system, then try Librewolf or Pale Moon.

You're better off with having Firefox + No Script + Ublock

Then maybe the Brave Browser for an option on the system for other means of private browsing.

Typical for them to pretend. Just because they act nice doesn’t mean they actually care.

Hello

Well can you share and developpe your point of view with some sources about it plz so ?
I first installed Windows 7 in 2009.
In 2009 I was 19.
In 2009 I was 150 LBS and serving.
In 2009 I was a lot less knowledgable.
In 2009, it was 2009.

Clearly you don’t understand how corporate politics work. They will say whatever sounds good, doesn’t mean they’ll actually deliver. The fact that Waterfox is managed by a company whose job is to market and advertise automatically makes it a poor choice, Firefox is literally better and is essentially the same browser, and there are better alternatives like Icecat, Pale Moon, LibreWolf, etc. that aren’t owned by corporate sellouts.
Usually the best browser are the ones you rarely hear about. Course with more people talking tech these days it's not as common.

I remember back when average person didn't have any idea what Opera or Tor browser was. And also many the many people who didn't know much about web browsers beyond IE, Edge, Chrome.

Hello

I think i am relatively open to point of view when they are sourced but not this kind.

I personally have nothing for or against waterfox as i use firefox myself , just was curious about your unsourced arguments.
