If it was a big issue like you claimed then Valve would’ve already done something about it. You people will do anything to throw Valve under the bus.
It’s obviously not a big problem and they know what they’re doing, so drop it and quit harassing. Had you blocked months ago because of your clowning.
That would be an odd thing to do.
Why, you ask?
• Security? LOL Windows 7 is basically Swiss cheese compared to Win11. You think hackers give a crap about your nostalgia? They're gonna waltz right in, steal your RuneScape gold, and post My Little Pony pics on your 4chan account.
• Modern Games? Forget about 'em. Your wheezing rig can barely handle Minesweeper, let alone anything made in the last decade. New games are laughing at your outdated dinosaur of a system.
• DirectX 12? HA! More like DirectX-who-cares, am I right? All the fancy new eye candy? Nope. Not for your sad relic of a PC.
• UI? Windows 7 looks like it was designed by a drunk toddler with a Fisher-Price mouse. Windows 11 is all sleek, rounded corners, and minimalist vibes. Your desktop ain't gonna impress those e-girls with that ancient aesthetic.
Think those extra taskbar features and widgets are 'bloat'? YOU'RE the bloat, pal. This ain't about wants, it's about NEEDS. And your system NEEDS a transfusion of modernity.
Look, I know change is scary. But sticking with an obsolete OS is like refusing to get a tetanus shot – you're practically BEGGING for digital disaster. Make the smart move. Upgrade to Win11. Your PC (and your reputation as a 21st-century human being) will thank you.
and how funny was windows 11 has less customization than windows 7
i unly moved from win XP to 7 in 2016.
I spend over 300 euro to obtain a full retainversion of win 7 ultimate.
the pc I bought costed that 4500 euro.
x99 5960x 1350 euro cpu.
128gb (8x16gb ddr4)
600 euro asus x99-ws-e mobo.
and much more candy like it.
its been updated to now rock a 10 core x99 i7 6950x cpu an even better mobo and dual 2080ti in sli all watercooled.
granted thats a few years old but 10000 euro of conponents from a few years ago keeps remarkable well today.
you likely need an ryzen 7600x and an gtx 4080
to get anywhere near its performance.
I hate win 10 I hate win 11.
I know I cannot use the rtx features of my hardware in 7.. I not care.
I not wanted 10 than and opted to spend 300 euro on getting 7 over buying a cheap oem win 10 licence like most of you peasants would.
custom waterloop and a nice overclock.. no game I met I cannot pull 100fps in 1440p with easely.
and I even spend the 1000 euro for 3 year longer support for win 7 than they officially gave (a subscription normally only for compagny licences but I managed to buy into one with my full retail version) as such my win 7 version has more security updates than most.. and sure I wont be downloading pirated content on it.. I use a virtual machine for that.. it works fine.
win 7 can run many of my old win xp games from cdrom just fine.. win 10 can not.
and while I am planning to buy a new pc next year if the 5xxx gpu series is out . I still would want to instal win 7 on that system not 10 or 11.
Okay, okay, hold your horses Mr. Moneybags! We get it, you spent a small fortune on that rig back in the day. But listen up, lemme drop some truth bombs:
Yeah, your PC was hot stuff...back when dinosaurs roamed the internet. Meanwhile, the rest of us moved on because not everyone wants to cling to ancient tech like a security blanket.
Custom water loop, 100fps at 1440p...that's cute. Most modern systems would eat that rig for breakfast and not even break a sweat.
Bragging about running 'pirated content' in a virtual machine? Dude, it's 2024, support what you love – or are those fancy upgrades suddenly too pricey?
"more security updates than most"? LOL. Even with that pricey subscription, betcha a shiny nickel a hacker could waltz through your setup faster than your rig can boot up.
Oh, and about being a "peasant"... you might have the cash, but when it comes to tech, you're stuck in the dark ages.
Go ahead and install Windows 7 on that sweet 5xxx GPU setup – see how well that performs.
Okay so, If they're a hacker, which one are they gonna target? Windows 10? 67% Market Share, Windows 11? 28% Market Share, I mean come on, they're obviously gonna target the newer operating systems. So, the way that people try to say "Oh no, don't use Windows 7!" is that they think that if you connect online, you're just randomly going to get hacked, that is just not work it works.
What about security? Although Windows 7 ESU (Extended Security Update) support ended in 2023/01/10, I found a video on YouTube that let's me get Windows 7 updates until Late-2024. I'm usually not worried about my security.
The UI? The Windows Aero Glass transparency is like the best thing ever, it looks so good. Windows 7 also has hands down the best start menu of all time, It's so simple and yet so useful at the same time. I barely have to do any modifications to have a good user experience.
I don't use Google Chrome, I use Firefox version 115, It's not the latest version but it gets the job done.
I have been using Windows 7 for a while without an anti-virus, and I haven't had any security issues even if It's unsupported.
Defender is still recieving update from ms , last one i recieved was the 15/02 as i went finally online again. You also recieving each month mrt
How exactly DO you think I'm confused? I am not confused not even in the slightest, didn't I say that I found that video that you can get security updates for Windows 7 until Late-2024? Search that video and you'll probably know what I'm talking about.
Also, I am relying on TotalAV now, which I recently downloaded, also it constantly receives updates.
