What are you comparing? Performance? RX 6800 XT beats the GTX 1080 Ti handily, heck, even the RX 6700 XT smokes the GTX 1080 Ti. Cooling/Temperature? Obviously the WC AIO solution would be cooler....

1080 TI is a very good card even with today's games but it will never compare with the ones gens above. If you have the opportunity to get a 6800XT go for it, even on air. There's only so much a 1080 can do, even if you prevent it to heat up.

cool thanks
The GTX 1080 is, what, somewhere between an RTX 3050/RTX 3060 or so in rasterized performance give or take? Maybe more towards the latter. The GTX 1080 Ti a bit above so more firmly closer to the RTX 3060 but below the RTX 3060 Ti. And I think driver changes may have put the RTX 30 series up in performance more than older stuff but I haven't paid as much attention to that. But it's roughly around there.

So for the RTX 3060, you're looking at, closest equivalent in the RX 6000 series, the RX 6600 XT. And that's two full tiers below the RX 6800 XT. In nVidia's terms the x60 to x80 tier usually doubles performance give or take. Not sure how accurate that is when comparing the RX 6800 XT to a GTX 1080 Ti, though.

The cooling isn't going to have a substantial relative performance difference so it doesn't factor in.
