Computer "hums" when moving mouse in Steam.
My PC is making a... very high pitched but subtle humming noise whenever I have steam open and I move the mouse around.

It does it in Windows Explorer as well, I just tested it. When going over some things there's a momentary break in the noise.

From my tower comes this little like... hum, kind of, electronic sounding.

Assuming I'm not losing my mind, does anyone know what this is?

My mouse is a wireless mouse connected via a USB dongle with a 2.4 connection.

Plug a corded mouse in. If same sound, GPU coil whine.

If no sound, leave the corded mouse in....less problems. Throw away the cordless mouse, you're on a tower anyway.

I had a GPU that did this. I think it was coil whine, which some devices are more susceptible to than others. It can be caused by your GPU, PSU, motherboard, or slight incompatibilities between these components.

For me I just used headphones a lot. It can sound worse if you are sensitive to high-pitched sounds.

That's a good idea.

The cordless mouse is because my PC is connected to my TV like a console would be since I only use it for gaming 90% of the time, so I'm on the couch using wireless accessories.

Yeah, you can still have it plugged but not use it except for that.
